“Excellent property in a convenient location”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I've stayed in other Kimpton properties and much like the others, the Eventi hit the ball out of the park. We had a very late (or early) check-in (4 A.M.) and from that point to time of departure, the staff was friendly, courteous, professional, and informative. Room was bigger than I had expected it to be, the bathroom was quite large, and the shower was amazing! Speaking of amazing, the bed. Oh, man, the bed. It was exquisite. Another terrific touch is the wine happy hour on the 5th floor terrace (free to hotel guests). The weather was perfect and it was lovely to have a glass of wine while taking in the view down Sixth Ave. Well done, Eventi! We will be back.

The hotel is quiet and luxurious. I was visiting NYC with my college age son and my teenage daughter who was attending a pre college program at the Fashion Institute of Technology a few blocks away. We were on the 10th floor and we all slept wonderful every night. The beds were extremely comfortable. My favorite part of the room was the ample size, the yoga mat provided in the closet (LOVED THAT!) and the rooms lighting. Most hotel rooms are dark but the layered lighting in the room was really great (except for the motion sensor closet light which needed a very active arm wave to get on and keep it on). The bathroom was luxurious and incredibly relaxing. A perfect welcome after walking around the city for 8 hours at a time. The mid town location is convenient however the neighborhood is filled with a mix of wholesale industry stores and people busily rushing to where they need to be. As a result of the chaotic activity when stepping out of the hotel I only gave the hotel 4 stars.

Eventi's location in midtown Manhattan is right smack in the center of the city making it ideal for enjoying all of what the city offers. You can walk up North to Times Square and the Empire State Building, west to Chelsea and Highline Park, south to restaurants and Jazz bars in Soho and Greenwich Village and East to fabulous shopping on Fifth Ave. It is a couple of blocks away from Penn Station and there are several subway stops in the vicinity. We loved the fact that despite its midtown location, our room was always quiet with beautiful views of the city. The room, like any urban hotel was not too large but ceilings were higher than usual with a large modern bathroom. The bed was firm, pillows and linens provided comfort.

The hotel lobby is small but cozy with friendly staff welcoming guests with fresh lemonade and fruit infused ice water. Every evening we were treated to a social hour for wine, extended during FIFA for guests to watch the games with provisions for chips and dips as well. We felt that the staff always went out of their way to make us feel welcome with thank you notes from the cleaning staff. One afternoon we came back to a plate of fresh fruits and wine and a postcard from Brenda, the concierge.

At night, the lit up city and Empire State was a beautiful site to watch from the large veranda open till late at night.

The food served at breakfast was quite good, with an abundant buffet spread served in a sun filled room.

We had such a great time in the city and felt the hotel added so much to our enjoyment.

We will definitely stay here again when we return to NY

This is a very good hotel - clean, comfortable with good sized rooms and great views of the city.

We came for a 40th birthday celebration. Andrew got us cupcakes and wine to celebrate which was lovely. We were also upgraded. Make sure if you book a city view that's what you're getting.

Some reviews say this hotel is out of the way, it's not! Within 10 mins walk is the Empire State, Madison square gardens, Times Square and it's not much further to Greenwich village or Central Park.

Korea town is on the doorstep. Try New Wonjo for Korean BBQ on W32nd St - fab place. On the last night we discovered Hill Country Barbecue on W26th - yummy.

I arrived very early, but they allowed me to check in as soon as a room was ready, which as about 12:30 pm. I was within walking distance of Times Square, Madison Square Garden, shopping and food, without the noise and crowds. I also had an unexpected view of the Empire State Building.

Although I was happy with my room, make sure they don't put you next to the electrical room. There was a knocking sound that was quite annoying when it was time to fall asleep.

I came to this hotel with a friend to attend a wedding in Brooklyn. We used to live in manhattan so we wanted to stay in the Chelsea area so commuting to all our favorite places (and the wedding) would be easy. I did not realize it was gay pride weekend AND apparently, every bachelorette party happened that weekend too. The traffic was a nightmare. Everywhere was crowded and HOT! Then we had our lovely hotel. Ahhh...the rooms were spacious and clean. We loved the bathroom! Great air conditioning. So quiet at night. And the 24 hour room service, wine hour and mini bar was the icing on the cake. We also very much enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Lots of yummy choices. Didn't have time to use the spa but I saw it and it looked very nice. I also have to compliment the friendliness of the staff. The woman who greeted us, smiled and was so polite. We were always greeted and asked if we needed help anytime we had bags. The man who delivered my room service was a sweetheart and very polite. Overall, the Eventi was a fabulous place to relax and unwind over a very busy and sometimes stressful weekend! As a former New Yorker, I can confidently say this place is lovely and I will definitely make this my new go-to manhattan home when I visit!

We stayed at the Eventi for 5 nights and absolutely loved it.
From check in, where Kevin went above and beyond to accommodate us and finding cupcakes and a welcome card in our room for our son who was visiting NYC for the first time (thanks Sarah!) - it was those consistent little touches that made our stay wonderful.
The hotel is wonderful - very conveniently located to all major attractions - and I would highly recommend it for a stay. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The only thing that was slightly inconvenient was that housekeeping did seem to come quite late in the day, so if we came back for a little rest, the room wasn't made up yet, but don't let that be a discouraging factor.
Choose the Eventi, you won't be disappointed :)
