“Awesome Hotel. Perfect Location.”
Reviewed 6 August 2010

This Kimpton does not disappoint! First off, its brand new so everything is in tip top shape. The bedding was amazing. They offer more amenities than any hotel I've stayed at (I sleep with a fan at night and they delivered one to my room free of charge). Allows pets, they have food & water in the lobby waiting for them. I loved the location. In Korea Town essentially, close enough to walk to 5th ave, but not right in the hustle and bustle of Times square. Even walked to the West Village and Chinatown. I definitely WILL be back. In fact I am not sure I'd stay in a different hotel (and I've stayed in places like the Waldorf & Roosevelt).

Swanky modern decor. The beds were amazing. Very friendly staff. We brought our pet and they rolled out the red carpet for her! The free happy hour on the 5th floor outdoor veranda was a hit with us. We would just hang out and relax there before heading out for the evening. Only downside is the neighborhood, but not a far walk or subway ride to get you where you need to go.

What a great hotel! We had a corner room on the 12th floor with ceiling to floor windows! The bed was very comfortable the room was decorated nicely, and the bathroom was beautiful. The 5th floor Terrace was great, wine and sangria were complementary from 5:00 to 6:00, it was a beautiful night to sit outside on the Terrace and take in the sky line! We would certainly go back to the Eventi, we got a great deal on the room, we just hope the prices don't go up so high that we can't afford to go back!
Thanks for an enjoyable get away weekend!

Brand new hotel so everything is clean and new. The room was unique in that it has a bathroom and closet door that closes by sliding sideways. There is a huge floor to ceiling window that lets in a lot of light. I liked the small grills on the tables that lift up to show the outlets underneath. I used this outlet to plug in the cord to charge my cell phone. The shower was great. It was partially closed by glass and open the rest of the way. No shower curtain needed. There are 2 shower heads and one was a hand held which was a nice feature.
There was a desk in the room where we could set up our laptop.
The gym was small but nice, although it took us forever to figure out how to open the door to get out. We needed our room card to get in but there were no signs to show us how to get out.
We had a room package with a $25 in room dining discount. We used the credit for breakfast and the only complaint was that the oatmeal we ordered came with a ton of sugar on it and we had to send it back. We used up the credit pretty past because the food is pricey & not only do they tack on a 20% tip, they had a $4 service charge.
There is a complementary wine hour on the 5th floor at 5pm and you can either sit inside in the screening room where they had a Wii set up or you can sit outside on the deck.
Everyone that worked there was very friendly and although it is not our first preference of location, we would gladly stay here again.

We live in the suburbs and from time to time stay in the city for the weekend. We chose this hotel because it is brand new, and also because we usually enjoy Kimpton hotels. What was surprising about this hotel was that it felt more like a condo building than a hotel, and not just because there are about thirty floors of apartments above the hotel floors.

The apartment feel starts at the lobby which is very stylish but small. There is a cool looking sitting area in the corner, but it is not the type of lobby where guests will just hang out. There is nothing else on this level so you move on. A couple of levels up is the Café at Eventi. This was the only restaurant available at the hotel at the time of our stay. Also during the time of our stay there was work still being done on this floor, so we are not sure how the final look will turn out, but our impression was that the café was going to have a bland grey design. We had breakfast here each morning and it was pretty good. You can order off the menu or have the buffet. There will be more restaurants opening up in the fall. On the fifth floor is a “screening room” and outdoor terrace. This was where the cocktail hour was held each night. We especially enjoyed the outdoor terrace which has several nice and interesting seating areas and a great view of the city including the Empire State building.

We stayed in an executive one bedroom suite which consisted of two medium sized rooms. The décor included dark hardwood floors, modern furniture and muted colors. Some might find the suite a little on the dark side. The bathroom was very nice and large. It featured white marble, two sinks, rain shower, Jacuzzi tub, and separate water closet. Our only complaint about the room was the lack of useful drawer space, and an automatic closet light that did not work very well and was not very effective.

In general the hotel is located in a very convenient area. You can walk to some great areas of the city like the “Meatpacking District”, and the Flatiron District.” Midtown is close by, and Madison Square Garden and Herald Square are very close, in fact they may be too close for some guests. The immediate area around the hotel is not that interesting and an area that most guests may just walk through on their way to someplace else.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel, especially because it is brand new and has a nice clean modern look. We also really enjoyed the cocktail hour on the terrace which of course will not be available during in inclement weather. There are so many hotels to choose from in Manhattan, and this is one worth looking into.

I stayed at the Eventi in mid-July while traveling on business. It was a great experience - the staff is cordial, the beds are comfy - no complaints. The rooms skew towards modern with dim lighting but everything worked fine. I ate breakfast in the restaurant and the buffet was reasonable with a good choice of breakfast items. The fitness center is okay not great like a Westin but there are enough cardio machines and a limited number of weight machines. They do have free weights which is a big plus. In the late afternoon - 5 pm they have a hospitality hour (I never made it but it is a nice plus). I would stay here again - very convenient to SOHO if you have business in that area.

I stayed at the Hotel Eventi the weekend after it opened, May 21st to 23rd 2010 with my mother for her 60th birthday. As it was a brand new resort and was doing a soft opening, we got an amazing deal, only $20 more a night than the Radisson Martinique down the street.

The rooms are great, very new and clean. The rain shower is amazing.

Location is very central to everything, two blocks to the subway station that will take you where you need to go.

Staff was great, very helpful. Wine reception from 5-6 is a very nice touch!

Would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you can find a great deal like I did!
