“Perfeito!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

E é bem próximo a Times Square. Adorei e recomendo!

Everyone was very friendly. Room and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Large room with fridge, stove, microwave, sink and everything you need to prepare a meal, except the food of course haha Wifi throughout the hotel. The breakfast is very good. Hearty, varied and tasty. I left my bags with them in the morning from 9am until 16pm and everyone always has a smile on his face. The hotel is opposite a side entrance to the Port Authority, which is a road that I use extensively, even to go to Jersey Gardens. And it's right next to Times Square. Loved it and recommend it!

Firstly, some terrific staff - Ralph and Karina especially in the Food area. Always smiling and willing to assist. Great assets and I hope they are appreciated for the happiness they bring to the hotel.

Complimentary big breakfast every day is very welcome, and of course crowded because of this. Sometimes hard to get a seat even though they open the bar area for extra seating.

Also, on Tuesdays to Thursdays, they have a happy hour from 5-7pm with a good amount of food (enough for a medium dinner), plus drinks including beer and wine.

Both attractions are very popular and take away is also encouraged as they have containers for guests to add for use after.

They also have free laundry facilities inc dryers. Just bring your own detergents or pay a modest fee for soap.

So far, so good...however, two noticeable issues:

1. They have 32 floors of rooms and only three elevators. Bad enough, except for the last TWO MONTHS, one has been out of order. The massive delays to get from floor levels to reception or the other way are soul destroying. You can wait up to about 18 minutes for an elevator only to find it is already crammed with disgruntled guests!

And despite suggestions, they do not provide any extra chairs in the foyer or on room levels for people with minor disabilities who have to stand uncomfortably for such a long time. But do not blame the staff as this is a MANAGEMENT issue.

2. Speaking of Management, they have a few of them who occasionally mix with the great unwashed around reception area, but they do not talk to anyone unless it is to censure them for minor indiscretions. I thought Basil Fawlty was a person of the past, but we found one here (in more ways than one...).

Guys in suits....you are letting your great team of staff down by not communicating with guests or listening to their issues. I saw one duck into a private room when he was about to be approached by a guest with a concern.

Lift your game guys and support your great staff or they will leave you. Your place is not that great without them!

Room Tip: Get a room on a lower floor so you can use the stairs!

Hands down the best hotel i have stayed during my visit. The hotel is well-kept and have great selection of complementary breakfast-dinner. Only 10min walking from Times Square. I would defin recommend coming back here again.

This hotel is very nice, it was clean, reasonable and located in a great spot. It's roughly 2 blocks away from times square but practically within a "reasonable" amount of walking distance to most spots. It also includes a nice breakfast every morning, it does get busy during prime breakfast hours (8-10am Eastern) but it's that way with most hotels. The rooms are a nice size and include a full kitchen so you can put stuff in the fridge or even cook if need be. The only issue I can really raise is that the elevators are very-very-very slow, I'm not exaggerating either. We went to this hotel last year during Toy Fair in February and they were slow then but this year, one elevator was closed our whole stay so it made for very long waits. I would suggest trying to get within the first 10 floors of the hotel if you're not a patient person so you can take the stairs. There is a parole office close to the hotel which usually has a line of people in the mornings but it was never an issue for myself or anyone in the group.

Overall the elevators aren't enough to keep us from coming back, just hope they can improve on them for next time.

Room Tip: I would suggest a corner room, the bathroom is a little bigger and you aren't next to the elevat...

This hotel is very nice but for us it managed to make the experience a lot less because of non logical elevators, leading us to wait sometimes up to 30 minutes on the 31st floor. Wifi was also slow, unreliable and I could never do a google hangout from the hotel, anywhere. Breakfast is inclusive but a zoo with not enough seating, or offering and queues for simple toasters. Had to leave the hotel therefore every day as soon as getting up to pick up breakfast from Starbucks and going to work in the lobby of another hotel.. Other than that, staff is friendly and rooms are great. Oh, and the evening reception is only in Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dear citizenMhotels,

Thank you for staying with us and leaving a review of our property. We are glad that you found our staff to be friendly and rooms to be nice. However, please accept our sincerest apologies if this stay was less than satisfactory due to the condition of the elevators and Wifi connection being a disappointment. We will use your comments to improve what we can offer.

Again, thank you for staying with us and we appreciate your valuable review.

We have stayed at a few different hotels in the Times Square/Theater District area and this is the nicest. In fact, I'd say, if not for the slow elevator problems, we'd never spend another second thinking about staying somewhere else when we return! We WERE warned by many reviews about this, though. We thought - oh - how could that effect your stay??!! It DID - in a big way, actually. After waiting ten minutes by the elevator to try to catch the last half hour of breakfast, I tackled the stairs from the 17th floor. The night before we were in the elevator with a kid that said he sprinted from the ground floor to the 30th floor. Good for you, dude, but I'm not that kind of person! I'm not in shape - and taking those stairs, not once... but TWICE, well, it really effected our trip. So much so, that we were going to go to The Met for a few hours on our last day, but our legs hurt so much, thinking about walking up those iconic steps to enter - we said "fuhgeddaboudit!!!" I know it's my fault, ultimately, for not being in shape, but at the same time...it was a disappointment. With three functioning elevators the reviews mention this problem. We stayed while elevator two was down! If this hotel could get the elevator problem in check - WOW... it'd be a stellar place to stay. The staff was courteous and accomodating, the breakfast was decent - with ample space to put a nice plate together and eat! We didn't take advantage of the mid-week happy hour - but what a unique offering! The room was large, compared to the shoe boxes where we've stayed before and the shower was a great one! OH! We LOVED having the dishwasher! It's one thing to have a functioning kitchen - but with a dishwasher... SO SMART and a plus for sure!

Room Tip: Ask for the lowest floor possible, just in case to be on time you have to take the stairs!!!!!

The Staybridge Suites are in a great location, not far from times square, in a perfect position to walk around New York. Modern, spacious rooms, with a small kitchen unit provided, the kitchen is great if you want to stay in, complete with microwave, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, basin, all the kitchen and cooking utensils you could need to cook. the room was quiet, with a good size shower room.

This hotel offers free breakfast, which adds up to a fair saving if you stay a few days. On the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, there was happy hour, with free wine, beer, soft drinks and a pick of some buffet food i.e burgers one evening and fajitas the next, another amazing saving that adds up.

Slight down side was out of the 3 lifts only 2 were working, which meant a wait. But this problem was small when we thought about how much extra they gave, in free food and drinks.

The concierge is very helpful, so can help you plan some trips, if you need help.

Staybridge Suites are very reasonable. Both me and my partner would happily recommend and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room on check in and it was.
