Owner description: Manhattan by Sail has a diverse little fleet of ships that sail the NY Harbor daily and a corresponding myriad of options for any and all who want to experience the thrill of sailing in the world’s greatest harbor. Our newest addition is the Clipper City, a 158-ft. tall ship that can accommodate up to 150 passengers. A more intimate experience can be had on the Shearwater, a historic schooner with capacity up to 48 passengers.

“Weekend Sailing”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Group activity with my 2 best friends besides of the great companion it was bad investment since for the price paid $52.00 with the discount by Amazon it is a waste of money. The activity is named “Craft Beer-Tasting” for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
No information at all about the few beers they offer to us, few snacks such as Salami-cheese-ham, almonds. They offer approximate 5 or 6 beers and not much information about it unless you are seat in front or the middle of the sailing boat.
The staff in general absolutely nice specially the captain and few more but the lady in charge to provide information about the beers with funny attitude and no papers or handouts with information.
If you go for fun with your friend’s great idea but with that money I prefer to do something different even the regular boat at the Hudson River has better service.

“Amazingly serene so close to the hubbub of the city”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

There are no bells and whistles to this ship or the sail so if that is what you are looking for it is great. I think twilight is the best because you go out in daytime, get to see a beautiful sunset (assuming nice night) and then watch as all the city lights come on and the bridges light up. The Statute of Liberty was especially captivating. Was not crowded which was nice. Full, it might be hard to find seats. Like that they let you bring food on board. Drinks are $9. Felt $ value good if you do it through discount site.

“Great afternoon”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

We had picked a lovely sunny day and it was a really relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. The prices of the drinks on board were cheaper than most of manhattan! The staff were really polite and friendly, it could be improved with some explanation of the buildings and sights we were passing. Overall excellent.

“Had a wonderful time”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

The most relaxed and romantic way to sail the bay and see the sights. Great crew, nice vessel, well-maintained and roomy, beautiful views. We joined them for the last Twilight Sail of this season and were thoroughly entertained by the views, the upbeat atmosphere on the ship and pleasant conversations with the crew. Some of their trips are included in NY Pass, but even if they weren't, it's well worth the money. Definitely will be back.

“Unique and relaxed way to see the statue of liberty”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

Beautiful clipper ship replica with a friendly, relaxed crew. The boat sails around the statue of liberty and provides beautiful views of the harbor and ny skyline as well.
