Owner description: We believe in Food Tour Freedom. Whatever ticket type you choose you get to eat what you want and how much you want. We think that's much more fun! Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a guided public tour or guided private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. Our self-guided On Your Own Experiences can be used as a tour, a list or as a tour first to sample and you can return to your favorites for full meals. Each Experience also includes some low cost breakfast options near major tourist attractions. Our guided tours are true eating tours, not sampling tours and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format that is much like a field trip. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through by contacting us directly that helps you save and eat great based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

“A very nice tour!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

My husband and I did the East Village Variety tour with Corey on August 9, 2014. Corey bravely marched us all through the very crowded subway ride to the East Village and we were on our way. Our favorite food stop of the day was at Artichoke for a fantastic slice of pizza. We chose margarita but there were other options and it seemed like most of our group really enjoyed this particular stop, I know we did. As Corey will say, tastes are subjective and you may not love everything. Our least favorite was the porchetta sandwich but that was nobodies fault, just wasn't our taste. The other stops were all good. Corey also provided us with some history of the area and was very concerned about our group mingling; he felt that our group was very quiet and didn't do a lot of talking to others but we did, Corey...you just didn't see it! LOL We met some lovely people that day. :) At the end of the day Corey made sure everyone in the group had clear directions on how to get back to our hotels or other destinations. Do this tour early into your trip as you will be provided with lots of suggestions for places to eat while you are in NY.

WOW!! What a fun tour. The food we had on the tour was amazing! Corey was very helpful and a lot of fun to be with. He gave us some history of the city as we walked through Manhattan going to the restaurants. Corey gave us great suggestions for places to eat at. All the places we went to were very affordable. I highly recommend this tour for food-lovers!

“You will never find food like this ”

Corey is a fantastic tour guide taking you to the best little secrets around manhattan. Once you eat in these places you would never want to touch a tourist location again. Not only does Cory take you to these fantastic locations but he also teaches you about some of the history of manhattan which was really cool. Next time we are in NY we are doing another tour for sure!

Thanks Corey for the amazing experience. From the Scottish couple from Edinburgh on your tour 8/16/2014. We never went to Los Tacos but went to smorgasburg which was a great experience!

“Great way to start a visit to NY”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

My husband and I enjoyed our friendly Food on Foot tour with Corey, which we'd scheduled our second day in New York. Among introducing our group to delicious, and famous!- New York foods, he gave us a great list of inexpensive restaurant recommendations to choose from later in our trip. We took several tours after this one and I have to commend Corey on getting us in a "NY walking mode" first thing.

“So glad we went! Our whole family enjoyed it!”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Our family of four took the Food on Foot tour of the East Village. Not knowing what to expect, we followed Corey on an entertaining walk through this interesting neighborhood, stopping at some great little restaurants for a taste of good-quality, inexpensive food. The food stops were diverse, with something for everyone to enjoy. Corey made us feel welcomed and showed a true passion for what he did. He even provided us with recommendations of more restaurants to try during the rest of our stay.... Of all the experiences we had while in NYC, this tour was one of the most memorable!! Would recommend to all!
