Owner description: We believe in Food Tour Freedom. Whatever ticket type you choose you get to eat what you want and how much you want. We think that's much more fun! Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a guided public tour or guided private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. Our self-guided On Your Own Experiences can be used as a tour, a list or as a tour first to sample and you can return to your favorites for full meals. Each Experience also includes some low cost breakfast options near major tourist attractions. Our guided tours are true eating tours, not sampling tours and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format that is much like a field trip. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through by contacting us directly that helps you save and eat great based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

My husband and I loved this tour. It was probably our favorite part of the weekend. The food is great and for 6 places only cost about $25 for the two of us. I don't know how we would have found another way to spend so little and taste so many great things. We also were given additional restaurant recommendations that we used for dinner that night (also awesome and reasonably priced).

Very nice experience, loved the food. Small group makes it less touristy and easier to share opinions. Also the shorter version, 4 stops, let's you eat bigger "samples".

My girlfriend and I decided to do the food on foot tour on our last day in New York. Lead by the very knowledgeable Corey, we visited four absolutely fantastic places.. going through Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian and American foods. Corey gave us loads of information on the areas we visited, the places we ate and on a whole host of other restaurants in New York to be checked out at a later date. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I did the East Village Variety tour with Corey on August 9, 2014. Corey bravely marched us all through the very crowded subway ride to the East Village and we were on our way. Our favorite food stop of the day was at Artichoke for a fantastic slice of pizza. We chose margarita but there were other options and it seemed like most of our group really enjoyed this particular stop, I know we did. As Corey will say, tastes are subjective and you may not love everything. Our least favorite was the porchetta sandwich but that was nobodies fault, just wasn't our taste. The other stops were all good. Corey also provided us with some history of the area and was very concerned about our group mingling; he felt that our group was very quiet and didn't do a lot of talking to others but we did, Corey...you just didn't see it! LOL We met some lovely people that day. :) At the end of the day Corey made sure everyone in the group had clear directions on how to get back to our hotels or other destinations. Do this tour early into your trip as you will be provided with lots of suggestions for places to eat while you are in NY.
