Great room, with comfortable bed, spacious bath room and big flat screen TV with perfect image (pretty uncommon in New York). Good storage and nice lighting with predefined lighting schemes. Free minibar (except for alcohol) and Bigelow bathroom products. Clean and still mostly fresh, even though you could see some signs of wear in the bathroom.

Service was very helpful, but the lounge check-in/check-out was maybe not so good from a logistic point of view. Trying to serve coffee & beverages at the same time as checking in guests at least left me unattended at a couple of occasions. I did however enjoy the free wine/cappucino once it arrived.

Nice bar & restaurant if you want to stay in the hotel. Breakfast really enjoyable, but (as always in top hotels) expensive. All in all a hotel I would definitely recommend, especially if you can get a good weekend deal.

The property is very nice and comfortable. Great location to visit Lower Manhattan.
Room was extremely well appointed and clean. Very good room. Quite, comfortable, perfect.

Reception was a mixed experience. First person who greeted us was very polite and very efficient, then I was dealt with by someone else and it was lukewarm at best. Room wasn't ready when we arrived. Had to wait over an hour.

Breakfast was very good, but again the quality of service varied from appropriate and efficient, to over friendly, to incompetent, to unpleasant and even rude. Pretty random.
Quite odd.
Also, the restaurant was freezing in the morning!!!

Luckily Room Service was excellent with perfectly efficient service, so often opted for that.

Overall, the property and rooms were great. Lobby and restaurant service were unfortunately fairly inconsistent.
Service is much sharper at Andaz 5th Avenue.

Stayed at this hotel using two free night bonus for getting a Hyatt Visa. First time at an Andaz hotel, and was extremely impressed. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the personable staff member, you are made to feel like a special guest. The lobby is a world away from the commotion just outside, quiet, inviting, and calming. The decor is modern, but warm, not cold. The complimentary snacks (applies, cookies), tea, cappuccino, latte, coffee (served by a barista), and wine, and beer (at night) is a nice touch, and the free, generously stocked mini bar - sodas, juice, bottled water, chips and chocolate power bars - was a nice surprise. Everything about the room was great. High ceilings, huge bathroom and shower, comfortable beds, high-end furnishings and electronics throughout. The room was so quiet, it was hard to believe we were in NYC and not out in the country. We had a busy schedule during our time here, but enjoyed every moment that we spent in the hotel. Every staff member we met had a smile and made us feel welcome. On our way to the airport, we got a call from the hotel informing us that we'd left one of our suitcases in the lobby, so we were able to double back and get it. Top notch people. Top notch property. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor away from Water Street

My trip to New York was a mixture of business and pleasure. I was booked into the Andaz as it was only two minutes away from where I worked. I was there for one week and then stayed over the weekend to see the sights with my boyfriend who joined me.

The hotel location is at the bottom of Wall Street with the 9/11 Memorial, Staten Island Ferry, Battery Park, the Brooklyn Bridge and Trinity Church all within a few minutes walk. There are also some pretty cool al fresco bars and restaurants on Stone Street which is only two minutes away.

My first impression of the hotel was light and airy. The lobby is large and rather than a normal reception you have a couple of 'hosts' who look after you. According to their book the 'host' will escort you to your room, arrange for your bags to be taken upstairs etc etc - I didn't get this although they were friendly enough. The lobby has a great ittle 'residents' area where in the morning you can get tea, coffee and muffins for free and in the evening from around 6.30pm you get free wine for a couple of hours. It's a great way to start the working day and to finish the working one!

There is a good sized bar the other side of the lobby although I didn't use that (what's the point when there's free drink in the residents part!)

The room itself was really large, I was in the king size room. The bed was enormous and super comfortable. In the room is a tv (large flat screen), hairdryer, (ironing board on request and then they leave it in your room for the length of your stay), bathrobes and slippers. All soft drinks from the mini bar and food left on the shelf is free - and it is topped up every day. The peanutty bar is delicious!

The bathroom is terrific. It's actually a shower room and it's brilliant! It's a huge shower with rainforest style water coming through - really nice cosmetics to use as well. There's a lot of space - the only downside is that there isn't much light - actually not much light in the whole room - but for comfort it's great.

The only downside is that when it comes to seeing the rest of the island you're a little far out. Previous reviews have said that as the hotel is close to Wall Street subway that it doesn't matter - but it does. When you've been sightseeing in the day and then you want to change for night it's a real pain to keep coming back and forth - it's also quite difficult to get a taxi / cab there and if it's raining (and there was a torrential downpour when we were there) then you're a little stuck. However - I would most definitely stay there again.

Please remember this review is written by a New York newbie. This hotel was fantastic. It is a bit off he beaten path, on Wall St but it was very close to a subway stop so walking was minimal. The location made it a bit quiter noise wise that im sure other hotels around town are.

Everything was very modern looking. Fantastic service from the desk staff. They didnt have the room we booked so we were upgraded to a suite, a very nice suite. The continental breaky is small but they make latte's and americanos for you upon request. I wouldstay here again in a heartbeat, and the price was reasonable, by NYC standards.

We enjoyed a fun weekend at Andaz. The decor is ultra modern, too cool for school hip, everything black, white or beige, glass & mirrors, electronic blinds & lighting system. Not our personal style but totally fun for a weekend stay.
The room is spacious with high ceiling. The bathroom area is almost as large as the rest of the room. Bed and comforter very comfortable, air ventilation system quiet and effective. Furniture, fixtures, bed linen, towels, personal care items all of high quality.
Mini bar items, except for booze, are complimentary and generous with sodas, juice, bottled water (still & bubbles),  terra chips, Dagoba chocolate bar. They replenish the items every day which we found impressive.
The best thing about Andaz is the complimentary, throughout the day cafe service in the lobby. From morning to evening, you can get coffee, cappuccino, latte, tea, cookies, candied walnuts, fruits, all served by friendly staff.  Wine & beer in the evening. We truly appreciated this amenity.
Wifi  is complimentary and easy to connect. Frankly, we are morally opposed to paying outrageous hotel charges for Wifi.
On our first day, we asked for extra towels and pillows and they were delivered promptly.
Location is worth mentioning. Downtown in the heart of Wall Street. We didn't care about not being close to the main tourist sites in midtown, but if that's important to you, Andaz may not work for you. Keep in mind subway stations are nearby and public transport is generally good in NYC.

Never have I seen a tripadvisor ranking that was as much out of place (ranked 3rd at time of writing) as in this case.

Sure, the room was nice and the service excellent. However, if you take into account that it the location is pretty far away from the hustle and bustle of most places in Manhattan, the breakfast is so-so and you end up paying $2600 for 4 nights, I can only conclude that you should avoid it like the plague.

The only way I could recommend the hotel is if you're on a business trip and your employer is paying. Otherwise there are much better hotels in NYC.
