Very nice hotel …You won't regret choosing the Andaz Wall Street

The service is excellent. love the location and design too. However, the service is well above the standards I usually expect and receive when staying in NYC. Rooms are in an immaculate condition.

Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms are great and super clean!

We stayed at the Andaz in April 2011 and slept for 3 nights. The room was beautiful and clean; we loved the decor. We liked the location (we like the Financial District and often stay there). However, we wouldn't go back to this hotel for several reasons. Here are some of the points we didn't like:

1) There was a problem in the whole building with air conditioning. It was unusually warm for this time of the year and the air conditioning didn't work. We called the reception who seemed surprised to hear about that; they sent us a "technician" who explained to us that the whole building is connected to a central system of some sort, and air conditioning is turned on at a specific date. I wonder why they didn't inform us at the reception? Our only option to make the room more comfortable was to open the window (thankfully, it was possible). Needless to say it was noisy and we didn't sleep well on either of the three nights we were there because the room was too hot and too noisy.

2) The free snacks and beverages they make available for you in the room is a nice touch... when they are refurbished. Which was not the case when we arrived (the fridge was half empty and there were no snacks in the room when we arrived). We had to wait for 2-3 hours before they came to refurbish the snacks and beverages. And haven't we asked for them the two other days, we obviously wouldn't had gotten more. I didn't like having to ask for my "goodies" and felt cheap I had to.

3) When we arrived, they couldn't locate our reservation because they didn't enter it properly in their system (they inverted last name and first name). It took them a while to find out where we were. And we had to wait for a long time to get our suitcases when we left (we left them at the hotel after checking out).

4) I didn't like the fact that even when you turn off the lights at night, the room has lights everywhere (to locate switches, on the phone, on the different gadgets). I like a room to be absolutely dark when I turn the lights off; I realize these are personal preferences thought.

5) That said, lighting in the bathroom and entrance hall is terrible. I had to go to the room to put my make-up on.

6) We weren't impressed with the service overall. This new way of welcoming guests (no reception per se) calls for friendliness in my opinion. Service was okay but not more than that.

7) The hotel doesn't have its own parking. It was a concern for us and when we called, they told us there wouldn't be any problem, that there were two parking lots nearby and there would be plenty of spaces on a Saturday in that area. We made an online reservation in one of the two parking lots and when we arrived, we were told there were no spaces available. We had to show our reservation and tell the guy we wouldn't leave until he found us a space to get our parking space. If you're concerned with parking your car in NYC, you may consider going to a hotel with valet parking instead.

We stayed here for a short weekend trip to NY. Location was great! It was close to Battery Park, the Staten Island Ferry, the NYSE, and subways stations were close by. We were able to walk to the 9/11 memorial from our hotel. Great location. The hotel was a different story. Upon check in late Friday night, the staff there didn't seem to enthused to be there; one guy at the counter looked at us as if he was annoyed. Things like that stick with you, but i didn't want that to ruin my trip.

We requested a "quiet" room, but it was far from. Our room was 701 at the end of the hall. It was partitioned off with an extra door, which I assume was to help with noise...but we constantly heard doors slamming either from our neighbor or people down the hall. Annoying! The dresser table between our beds had multiple dents and chips missing from the edges. The drawers below the TV were off center; we didn't really use them, but it looked tacky. The beds were very hard & it would've been nice to have more of a selection of pillows. Pillows there had NO support. We wanted to order room service our second night there, but one of the phones wasn't working. It took us a bit of time to get the other digital phone to work; it was in sleep mode.

The drinks and snacks were a nice. Good selection of sodas, bottled water, and alcohol. If you're a business traveler working in Wall Street for a few days, this is perfect for you. As a visiting traveler to New York, I'd probably look elsewhere. For a so-called "boutique" hotel, the Andaz did not live up to our expectations.

Having stayed at the Andaz before, we had to return once we decided on a brief weekend away from DC. From check-in with hosts circulating in the lounges with tablet computers to conversing with the Wall and Water restaurant and bar staff, one feels that the Andaz is about exceeding one's expectations, correcting errors promptly, and acknowledging the guest as the one who determines the value of the experience. The Fidi location is just a couple short blocks from the Wall Street subway station, and taxis abound for the truly adventurous in getting about time. Our Wall Street facing room offered a good aerial view of filming on the next block of the upcoming installment in the Batman franchise. The room decor was modern, yet soulful with a WC separate from a dark stone shower and soaking tub in their own chamber.

Room Tip: Wall Street views can be amazing if there's filming nearby

I have stayed at this hotel for business many times but finally took the family for a weekend of fun. The rooms are always very clean and roomy - much roomier than any other NYC hotel for certain. I love the amenities such as the coffee, tea, cookies etc...that are available in the lobby and also the wine at night. The mini bar is all free except alcohol - and although it may sound trivial, it is nice to be able to reach in and grab sparkling water or a juice without giving it any thought. It is a real convenience. I also think this is one of the quietest hotels there is in the city. It's great if you are looking to see the Statue of Liberty or 9 11 memorial. Everything else requires you to travel uptown but I still think it's a great hotel and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Do not take a room that is behind the elevators...tends be lead to noise in the stairwell traveling...

Stayed here for 6 nights 19-25 Oct. with our two young daughters. We found the service to be very welcoming and friendly. Check in was smooth and "the hosts" were more than willing to help with luggage. We were delighted with the room which was ultra modern and comfortably big enough for four. The mood lighting was dark but could be toggled to be brighter. The coffee bar did hot chocolate for our girls and it was always just right - not too hot and not too cold and the free mini muffins, cookies and fruit were very handy for a quick get away in the morning.

The staff quickly knew who we were and were happy to help out with all kinds of specific shopping queries and even arranged a birthday cake to be delivered to our room as a surprise.(Particular thanks must go to Kinga)

We deliberately chose the Financial District as an alternative place to be based for a holiday. We liked the fact that the area was quieter than other more touristy locations and there were lots of nearby historical buildings and easy eats. We found it very straightforward to get Uptown on the Subway. The tkts booth at South Sea Port was conveniently close and was much quieter than Times Square for cheap Broadway show tickets.
