“Fabulous Hotel”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

I had a lovely room, spacious and convenient. Staff is exceptionally friendly and the perks of free wine during 6 and 8, snacks and free non-alcoholic bar saves you a bundle in the expensive NYC. The location is convenient for business in lower Manhattan, but mid town is not much further and can be a cab or a tube ride away. I loved my stay there and it suffices to say that I will look at availability at this hotel first before any other even it means paying a bit extra. It is a cut above the rest in all the ways that count!

The Andaz is a world apart from the usual drab, cookie-cutter business hotel. The staff were friendly and the service felt genuine with a real effort to greet you warmly and help you through your stay. The rooms - oh the refreshing size of them for NYC! My room was huge, modern and so comfortable. The bathroom was immense with a beautiful, large tub. Such a treat. Then it's all the little extras - you get wifi, everywhere in the hotel on all of your devices. Simple and it works. You get snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in your room. There is a bar with a nice vibe where you can have a drink alone and chat easily - that kind of place. The restaurant was good too- it felt like someone cared when they designed it, to make it pleasant and ambient. This place ticks all the boxes and then some. If you have business near Wall St, book well in advance. Everyone knows of it now and it's so much better than the others in the area!

"Large King" room was the biggest non-suite hotel room I've ever stayed in in NYC. Very comfortable, modern decor; very large bathroom with enclosed toilet on one side, and soaking tub across from large walk-in rain-shower across the way. Minimalist decor with hardwood flooring, white walls, onyx bathroom, white linens, blond wood desk/modular units and drawers. Lighting system is a bit complex to use, but provides automatic preset configurations for "work", "relax", etc, as well as an "all on" and "all off" switch. Checking in was amazing -- you are greeted at the door by someone with an ipad who takes care of you, rather than waiting in line. There's obviously been a lot of work on customer service. My two pet peeves were addressed: Wifi is free (as it should be in all upscale hotels); plenty of towels -- nice heavy big white towels. My room was very quiet, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept very well. As an added bonus, the food and drink in the mini-bar are free, with the exception of alcohol. However, there is a free wine reception every evening from 6-8, and there is tea and coffee, including espresso/cappucino, in the lobby 24/7. Although I chose this hotel for business on Wall Street, I would definitely stay here again for any purpose in NYC. It's about two blocks from the Wall St. subway station (red lines 2,3), about 10 minutes by subway from Penn Station.

What can I say... The price was right, the location was great, the staff was amazing, and the rooms gorgeous. I consider it the perfect hotel. Amazing amenities for a NYC hotel (free wifi, wine, snacks, etc.). Beautiful hotel, super friendly and helpful staff. The ONLY complaint I can think of is that the elevator buttons shock you all the time! Not sure what's up with that!

We were in NYC for a family function and stayed at the Andaz for 10 nights at the end of August. The hotel had not been organised by me so I did not know what to expect, but couldn't have been happier. The hotel is very modern and the staff were fantastic. Our stay coincided with Hurricane Irene and on our arrival we were notified of the hotel evacuation the next morning. The staff had organised that we stay at the Grand Hyatt for two nights - the transfer was seamless - and on return we were upgraded to a superior room for the inconvenience! The rooms are stocked daily with snacks and drinks, all free, and in the lobby there are free breakfast muffins & coffee in the morning and then vino come the afternoon - a very nice welcome back after a day out sightseeing. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

I've now stayed at this property a number of times on business trips to NYC.
I love the relaxed, unconventional check-in area, friendly staff, the coffee and breakfast zone located in the lobby.
The rooms are comfortable, impeccably cleaned, the mini bar is stocked with free munchies and drinks. Overall a great expericence!
I look forward to my next stay.
