“Week in NYC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

We spent a week at the Andaz Wall Street in NYC. The hotel is very modern and upon arrival we got a room upgrade to a Deluxe room although we have only booked a Standard room. The room was featuring a walk-in rain shower and separate tub. The room interior is very tasteful and modern. Wi-Fi was free and non-alcoholic beverages in the mini bar were complimentary. The hotel is a bit away from the touristic hubs of the city. Nevertheless, the NY Metro stations of Wall Street and Broad Street are close by. Overall a very pleasant stay.

My husband and I stayed here June 2014 for 7 nights. We loved the Good Morning Sunshine breakfasts! and enjoyed the area nearby South Street Seaport/Battery Park/Wall Street/Historic NY. Hotel convenient to subway/bus. Would stay here again if traveling to NYC.

Stayed at the Andaz Wall Street two times this Spring. First time for a bridal shower and then back again for the wedding. Both stays were equally as enjoyable. The lobby is welcoming as are all of the staff who greet you when you enter. Enjoy coffee at your leisure in the lobby area and a complimentary glass of wine from 6-7pm. The décor is modern and upscale, which leads me to my only complaint - the lighting in the bathroom. Very dim. Not very helpful for those who need good lighting to apply makeup! To end on a positive note - another nice perk is the complimentary drinks/snacks in the room. Everything in the mini frig is complimentary, with the exception of the alcoholic beverages. It's nice to have a sparkling water without having to run down the street and pay $3 for it. I would definitely stay at the Andaz Wall Street again and look forward to checking out the other Andaz hotels in other locales.

The Andaz Wall street is a near perfect balance of value and luxury, the somewhat inconvenient location is amply offset by the quality of the hotel and service and for the weekend getaway it is a great value. Brunch at the restauraunt Wall and Water Restaurant used to be included with an AAA discount and that made it PERFECT. Wonderful brunch and atmosphere, but a bit pricey at around $55 per couple as an add on now without AAA

A great hotel. Very spacious, quiet, clean..a little far from Midtown but we preferred it because we could avoid the crowds. If you are willing to take a little effort using the public transportation, the location won't be a problem. It's close to a lot of subway lines. We easily got around to all the places we wanted to without much problem.

I have to say that my hotel check in at Andaz Wall St. NYC was one of the easiest hotel check ins ever. I travel often enough to know the difference. I did not know what to expect being in NYC, but fairly simple. The staff was accomadating in every way possible. The rooms were clean and very sheek. I would definetely use again and in addition will look to stay at HYatt hotels in the future when I travel. I would have no problem recommending to anyone.

My wife had stayed here with her mom last year and had been praising it so highly that I never even considered any other hotels for our anniversary trip to nyc. And boy, did that ever prove to be a Yoda level good call. From the moment we got there, I was blown away by the quality of the service. I wish I had gotten the name of the lady who checked us in because she deserves to be praised by name and should be given a hefty raise. Not only was she extremely courteous and polite, she upgraded us to a suite because I mentioned in passing that it was our anniversary and was also nice enough to help me with our luggage all the way up to the room! That's going so far above and beyond the call of duty that I doubt I'll ever get to experience such courtesy ever again. The great service did not stop there. We had to switch rooms because of a faulty shower the next day but had to go out before another suite was available, remember the suite was a complimentary upgrade in the first place but Andaz was unwilling to let us shift down to what we paid for and this unbelievably nice Asian gentleman called me with regular updates regarding the status of availability of our new suite while we were out and even moved all our staff to the new room before we got back and even held the old room vacant so we could retrieve our valuables from the safe. Suffice is to say that I am completely overwhelmed by the level of courtesy I experienced at the Andaz Wall Street and Hyatt should be extremely proud of the staff they have working at this property.
The rooms are huge by new york standards with tasteful modern furnishings and a robust and well thought out infotainment setup. The minibar is free, except for alcoholic beverages and is well stocked with sodas, juices, water and light snacks, which really is a very classy touch indeed. ToiIetiries were somewhat scarce compared to other hotels of this caliber but that's a minor gripe. The shower/bath area is not very thoughtfully designed though, and this may be a personal issue but the fact that the water spilling out into the separate sink area is an inevitable consequence of the design is annoying. It would have been far more sensible to have the overhead shower above the bathtub but for some inexplicable reason, the designers decided not to take the practical route.
But frankly, if all they had in there was a bucket with cold water I'd still give this hotel 5 stars for the marvelous and unprecedented levels of service. This hotel is a must try for anyone looking to spend time in nyc and deserves all the praise in the world for not only debunking the myth about new yorkers being discourteous but also for setting the bar on courtesy so high that I doubt any place will be able to beat it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing water street as noise from traffic and emergency vehicles can be loud enou...
