We saw very positive reviews on TripAdvisor and chose our hotel based on these reviews and we were not disappointed. Although the area does not have the "hustle and bustle" at night as other areas in Manhattan, its easy to get anywhere by subway or taxi and there ARE great areas down there (e.g., Stone St.).

Stayed for a weekend and the rooms are spectacular. I was upgraded to a large king and the room was huge, the bed was massive and comfortable, and the shower and bath were absolutely beautiful. Not my ideal location being down in Wall Street, but great if you need to be downtown. I didn't spend time exploring the hotel restaurant or bar.

Downtown Wall St district is increasingly an apartment neighbourhood rather than a business district. However, there are still many banks downtown, and the Andaz is perfectly placed for those. Also very close to the Wall St subway station, and all the best downtown bars.

Restaurant is very good, and rooms are very modern and super-comfortable. Check in and out was one of the smoothest I've experienced in years and years.

The Andaz is a modern, quiet and impeccably clean hotel in NYC, which offers those amenities not found everywhere - cocktale hour and cookies and snacks and just a delightful environment! We did not use the restaurant, but the bar had the wines we wanted at reasonable prices. The clean modern rooms were a haven.

Great hotel, neat, tidy and clean rooms with very helpful staff. Most of the NY attractions are a little far away if you considering staying here but a very nice hotel nonetheless. Close to everything you need downtown but a little bit of a trek to midtown - something tourists should be mindful of.

I travel to NY frequently and normally the Andaz is priced beyond my budget but on a recent trip I was shut out of other options and the Andaz was surprisingly under $400. Given the normal price and hype on this travel site, I honestly was expecting more but there were several areas where the hotel rated highly IMHO.
* Room comfort - the bed was comfortable, and the room quiet
* Service - check-in and check-out was easy, they offered several amenities (free coffee), and while I was disappointed in the ironing board in the room, room service brought me a larger one with almost no fuss
* Fitness center - newish equipment, spacious room and plenty of water/towels
* Shower - loved the roomy shower stall

Negatives for me were that the value at the price was just OK, and the hotel's semi modern style (e.g. odd lighting in the bathroom and loud lobby).

If you're traveling to NY and price is not a big concern, you're better off in midtown. If you have to be downtown, and want to little extra service/touch of modern class, the Andaz is a good find.

Stayed here last week for 1 night and wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived before 10am and they had a room ready already! We also got a late checkout the next day for free. Check in was excellent, staff were so friendly and helpful. You get free tea, coffee and cookies in the lobby. There's also free wine for an hour at night.
Room was amazing, spotless, very big for Ny and very modern. Loved the shower and it was really powerful. Hotel has a lovely bar. We had room service breakfast which arrived exactly on time and was lovely.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Was in the heart of the financial district and easy to get anywhere as subway was across the street. There's also a 24 hour shop a cross the road for essential s. P.s all the soft drinks and snacks in the minibar are free too. Nicest hotel I've stayed in in a while.
