I went with my fiancé on New Years Eve and were very disappointed by the service and meal. We were looked down on and were made feel very uncomfortable throughout the whole meal. The main pasta dish was yummy, but not at all worth the price and not enough of it. We were hungry afterwards, but did not want to stay around for anything else. And then they added the 18% tip onto the bill, very rude!

On the plus side, the restaurant has an interesting decor. Sort of wine bar cum restaurant, they are serious about the range of wines on offer. No problems on that front, though they all tend to be pricey. Service let them down, with our main waiter giving us a condescending and less than attentive level of service throughout the meal. His colleagues were more polite and friendly, but the experience was already spoiled. Another problem was the draft running from front door, along the bar and into the restaurant table area. We sat at a table towards the start of the restaurant and steadily got colder as the evening progressed. On the food front, the dishes we ordered were pretty good. Zuppetta di Pesce fish dish was particularly good, and the veal medallions were nice too. They also allowed for a half size fettuccini bolognese for our young daughter. Pricing of the dishes was reasonable. Rating the food, atmosphere and service, this restaurant can only come out as average.

I wasn't very hungry on my last visit here so I ordered a large salad - Big mistake. A restaurant of this caliber should be able to do something other than toss greens with flavorless oil and dump them in a bowl. I ended up swiping the lemon from my companion's ice tea to squeeze some flavor into the greens and relying on the salt and pepper at the table for spice.

I've eaten here lunch and dinner here before and had lovely meals. Not sure what happened.

We've eaten here on previous NY trips, so we were familiar with the drill. Make a reservation, they'll call to make sure you're coming - even though the place was only about a third full the whole time we were there. Service is good - not speedy - but they're attentive - and can answer any menu questions you might have. The truffle pasta specials will give you sticker shock - so stick to the regular menu. Salads had decent dressing, but were really just a big plate of lettuce - nothing real special about them. Pasta dishes were good - gnochi and ravioli were our choices. Good wine selections - but you might need a loan if you're having more than one glass. But it IS New York.
