This is the second time we have stayed at the Distrikt Hotel. It's convenient to Penn Station. Port Authority, theater district, restaurants, and the subway.
The hotel is 32 stories with 5 rooms on each floor. Fortunately, we do not hear any street noise.
All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Peter, Kevin, and Melificent helped us navigate the streets of New Yawk.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet.

We stayed at the Distrikt during our stay in NY and what a find! Super comfortable rooms with all the facilities to make our stay comfortable. The staff were friendly, we actually contacted them before our visit and they booked attractions for us in advance. A special mention for Hugo who went out of his way to help us on our last day when our transfer let us down, and Nesha who dealt with our advance bookings! If you ever need a quality hotel in NY then stay at the Distrikt!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the Empire State

We booked 4 rooms for 3 nites during graduation, a pricey "season" in NYC. The hotel is lovely, comfortable and efficient with a bit of flair. Rooms are just what you need, no frills but nicely done. It is quiet as only a few rooms found per floor. Excellent security. Not on a very attractive street but easy access to lots of sites, walk to Times Square and Hells Kitchen has some great places to eat. The hotel staff was terrific! Helpful, attentive and smiling at every turn. The only reason its not a five is because there was a promise made for a handicap room which I then had to "fight for" prior to check in...and the staff DID come through in the end. Annoying. It is a very fine choice when you need the basics well delivered!

Room Tip: We had 3 king rooms and each was a different size - only thing I can suggest is ask for a room that...

I booked this hotel for the weekend of May 10 (Stayed Friday Night and Saturday Night)

Getting There:
Shuttle bust from Newark International Airport, to leave, take shuttle bus from Grand Central, around the corner from the hotel. Price each way is less than $20. Gets you to the aiport in about 30 mins.

Hotel Facilities:

Foyer is a bit small, but clean and modern looking. There's free wifi throughout the hotel, including at the foyer.

You get a keypass without which you can't take the elevator .

There is a small retaurant / bar off the foyer that is open for breakfast and at various times. Not 24 hours but this is NYC - you can get anything you need a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Restaurant/bar itself (at least for breakfast) was good. Option of buffet breakfast (around $25) or a la carte - very good options either way.

My room ( a queen bed room on the 15 floor) was very clean, AC worked fine (was a hot weekend), bathroom was spare, tasteful and clean. Shower stall instead of tub, and the force of the water decent. Room cleaned daily unless you request otherwise. Didn't have much of a view from my room and from the way the hotel set up (surrounded by similarly tall buildings) not sure if there's a great view from most rooms.

Service was fantastic - unfailingly polite and very helptful staff (from front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning folks and even random staff on the elevator). Got honest tips on where to eat at in the vicinity, where to go to unwind, etc.

For the price, location and services, this is pretty good for NYC. I would definitely return there.

Room Tip: If you want a view (not sure if there is any) you should check with them directly.

The hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the Penn station terminal. If you are using public transportation it is very easy to get to the subway quickly. The room was quite nice and spacious enough for two people. The front desk and check-in went very smoothly. The only complaint that we had that kept this from a 5 rating would be that our room never received service one day. We returned to our room around 4 in the afternoon, and even after calling down and asking for fresh towels and service our request was ignored, and we had to call again 90 minutes later.

Being our first time visiting New York I spent lots of time researching for the ideal base for our visit.
The distrikt is in an excellent location with Times Square, Broadway and the fashion district all within a 5-10 minute walk !
Hotel is very modern and the staff are excellent! All were extremely pleasant and helpful with any assistance we needed.
We arrived back on a night many times in the early hours and never once felt unsafe always people around as the hotel is next to other hotels. Would book again tomorrow if we could !

This was a great hotel for NY city. I booked a last minute room based on tripadvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. Driving in through the tunnel, the hotel is right across from the bus station. It's on a busy side street that was completely fine to walk up and down.

Parking is in a garage a block away. Parking and retrieving the car took forever - over half an hour. Make sure you allow for that time.

For two nights we were upgraded to a larger room. We were on a low floor, but were not bothered by street noise at all. The room was clean and the shower had the best water pressure I've ever had in a hotel. Room was quiet and front staff was friendly.

We made a last minute decision to extend our stay after checking out so I called to book another room. I was quoted a higher price than what I found on their website but after asking for the lower price and getting the manager to approve it, I was given the lower price. This time we were not upgraded and the room was a bit smaller, but nothing that noticeable. We were on a higher floor and the shower pressure wasn't as good, but still acceptable.

We never had any of the free nightly snacks, but the person I was with saw them and said it was nothing special. They did have free water and coffee in the lobby, but I never used that either.

For the price paid in the heart of NY, I'll definitely check this place out again when I come back to NY.
