“A Great Find!”
Reviewed 9 April 2010

The Distrikt Hotel exceeded all my expectations. My 3 friends and I searched for a hotel in NYC and finally came upon this one. It turned out to be an amazing find. The location was fantastic, being only 2 blocks from Times Square and walking distance to the subway/taxis. We got a great opening special price, which was well worth it! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and nice. We befriended many of them upon our stay, which is one of the reasons we enjoyed our stay so much. They were quick to provide us with anything we needed and always welcomed us with a warm greeting. They offered us insider tips to New York, recommended places to eat and nightclubs.
The hotel itself was very trendy and very clean. The rooms were really nice and cozy. The rooms were always neat and tidy. We received weather cards to let us know of the weather for the next couple of days, as well as The New York Times, which were all nice touches. I would highly recommended this hotel and am super thrilled with my stay here. Thank you Distrikt for making my New York experience a great one!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was great one block over and you can see times square. We went to the empire state building at 11pm and walked back to the hotel and felt very safe. The hotel was clean, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with a great shower. The staff are very attentive and friendly. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Stayed 2 nights at the Distrikt Hotel. Staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Very eager to help and suggest restaurant and lounges. Rooms were a nice size for NYC. Bed were comfortable and the rooms were VERY Clean. Bathrooms very nice. Showers were pretty. Decor was nice. Chocolates on our pillows were a nice touch. Hotel was quiet and in a decent location just a few blocks from Times Square. Parking was probably the best price I ever had in NYC.! Only down fall was I wish they has a restaurant to catch a late night bite and the fact I couldn't stay longer.

My 3 friends and I discovered this lil' gem online and took advantage of their outrageously amazing introduction price! The hotel's staff were helpful, extremely accomodating and very friendly. The hotel itself is on the smaller scale (as expected with newer hotels) but beautifully decorated and clean. The quality of service we received was on par with what would be expected of at a 5 star hotel.

Location:
Although there was a significant amount of construction at the time we went, the location is fabulous. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Time Square, right across from the Port Authority terminal and steps away from easy access to a subway station or cab. Furthermore, right beside the hotel is a parking garage that offers a discount when staying with Distrikt Hotel. There is a pharmacy, convenience stores and numerous lil' cafes and restaurants nearby which makes this hotel's location even more convenient.

Room:
My friends and I stayed in one room with two double beds that was a bit small but easily accomodated the four of us, four suitcases and numerous shopping bags. The room was super trendy, up-to-date (wall mounted, flat screen tv, iPod dock!) and incredibly clean. Also, the room was very quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only disappointments I have about our room was that there was minimal counter space in the bathroom and the shower would flood occasionally because there was no tub enclosure. However, these are extremely trivial matters. Comfortable, yet trendy room!

Service:
The service of this hotel FAR exceeded my expectations! Everyday our rooms were tidied up and topped off with a generous supply of towels! The staff were friendly and extremely helpful providing suggestions on restaurants, nightclubs, etc. What really impressed me about the service of the hotel was their ability to go beyond the call of duty. The rooms did not have a coffee machine or an extra fridge because of the recent opening of the hotel, so the staff graciously allowed us to store our left overs or food purchases in the staff's fridge. Furthermore, hot water, tea and mugs were delivered to our door as requested, no matter what time of day/night it was. Also, upon arrival, our in-room safe was not operating. When we called down to report this, the staff promptly sent up a maintenance man to replace the entire safe! Oh! A side note: Do not purchase a phone card. For some reason, the hotel's telphone system does not support phone card usage. This being said, the hotel apologized profusely and allowed me to make a long distance phone call from the front desk free of charge. There are absolutely no negative comments for the hotel's service.

This hotel is a fabulous find for an amazing price! I highly recommend this hotel and encourage everyone to take advantage of the introductory price before it rises! You will not be disappointed!

Just spent 3 nights over the easter weekend in this hotel-it is very new-across from the port authority bus station and in the theatre district. Everything was spotless and the staff was great. The location is excellant for dining and going to the theatre. I would feel safe travelling with children or just women in that area. We had the smallest rooms because of the promotional price (129.00/night) but because of the flat screen tv there is no need for all that excess furniture so it didn't matter. No street noise, nice small bar and restaurant downstairs. Parking across the street for 24.00. You might want to avoid rooms with a connecting door-apparently the insulation isn't as good as it could be and noise from other guests filters through. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Best place we have stayed in NYC for the price/location/service and cleanliness. All amenities there-iron, hair dryer etc.

The hotel is brand new and the staff is wonderful. The room is not huge, but very nicely decorated and great shower. The neighborhood is still under construction but close to subway, bus terminal and access to restaurants and only 6 blocks from Times Square. About a 10 block walk to Penn Station.

My husband and I took our 9 year old granddaughter to New York for 5 days. We had a mostly great experience staying at the Distrikt. Rooms were new, clean and beautifully decorated. The front desk staff and Carlos the bell man were especially helpful and friendly. Great location, we never were uncomfortable and felt very safe, even walking back to the hotel late at night. Easy access to the subway as soon as we figured it out. Only negatives were that our room wasn't cleaned one day and a very late(10:30) knock on our door to turn down the beds one night. Also they recommended the Ocean Grill for dinner one night. The food was pretty mediocre but we can't hold them responsible for that, just don't recommend it again. We got a great price, I guess an introductory rate and will definitely look into staying there again for our next trip if the price stays affordable.
