Spent three days at Distrikt end of April for work, fabric shopping and of course having to go to plays at night. This spankin' new hotel was exactly between the theatre district and the fabric places on 38th/39th.

As so many others have said, what a find in the city. Reasonable size rooms (for NYC) only five to a floor. Great linens... real Turkish towels! Tub/shower combo with good water pressure, nice amenities in the room, quiet! Slept like a log. Polite and unobtrusive staff, helped with all the oddball things we asked.

Slightly seedy street south of the Port Authority, but that's New York. So convenient, and in the midst of several new hotels of different flavors. Nice big Mac's in the lobby to check your email or get directions or visit Tripadvisor. :)

Only complaint? I wish there was a lid on the toilets so I can set stuff on there when I get ready in the morning, as the ledges around the sink are trendy but narrow.

My biggest worry? That this place will be discovered and rates will price it out of my budget. Plan to stay here in the future if that doesn't happen.

Definitely recommend with no qualms.... great!

We arrive at 7:30 am so no room available of course, but they took our bags and our cell phone number so we could start exploring. The location of the hotel is an excellent base for exploring this huge city. It is located at 40th Street and 9th Avenue, and 9th is where you can find countless restaurants! Every evening we would just walk up 9th and find somewhere to eat! (We LOVED Arriba Arriba for Mexican, and L'Allegria for Italian!)

We had a queen room (the smallest) but it was plenty big for a 5 night stay in NYC, who spends time in the room anyway? The bathroom was gorgeous and the rooms were spotless! Every single staff member we met, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to bartenders we super nice and always helpful!

The hotel is really close to the 42nd street subway station which we used quite frequently, as well it's only about 2 blocks from Times Square so you can take in the lights when you want to, but not feel like part of the crazy tourist pack!

All in all we LOVED the hotel and would go back in a heartbeat, that is if we can afford it! We got an excellent deal on Expedia when it first opened, now the nightly rate listed on the door of our room said $629 (a bit steep if you ask me). Go to the Distrikt while it's still affordable.. you won't be sorry!! :)

We arrived at the hotel and were quickly checked in without fuss, the front desk staff were proffesional, polite and helpful throughout our stay. When it was raining they were quick to offer an umbrella, or if you had a question they were just as fast with a response. The lobby is very nice, with the "green wall" and they had 3 computers with free internet access for guests, which came in handy for arranging tours etc. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, very modern and bigger than i have previously experienced in NYC, the beds were very comfortable, and as for the pillows, well if i had room in my bag i may have taken one. The bathroom is also very nice, modern and the shower is very powerful, just what you need after a days sightseeing or shopping. The lifts are fast, and rarely did i wait more than 30 seconds for one. All in all this is the best stay i've had in the city and price permitting i will be staying here whenever i visit NYC. Well done Distrikt, keep it up.

Been awhile since I've last visited NYC and read from other posts that this hotel was quite new and location was excellent so we took a chance. There were actually 3 hotels side by side (Sheraton Four Points, Staybridge Suites, and then the Districk). All three hotels were new and trendy and I will have to try these other ones next time. Anyways, I got a great rate from Booking.com. Hotel was 2 blocks from Times Square and directly across from the Port Authority Transit Terminal. The lobby was a bit small but the staff was pretty helpful and tried to help. Security was great as you need a key to go up and down the elevator. The bedding were nice and comfortable. Some may say the rooms might be small but being small Asians it was just right for us. Glass showers were large with powerful showerheads! We didn't stay much in the hotel but did most of our time exploring the new NYC.

We stayed here because you could ask for a room on the upper floors. We have had rooms in hotels in large cities where the street noise can be annoying. As it turned out, this hotel is located on a realitively quite street. Our friends were on the 11th floor and said their room was quiet.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

This was the cutest, friendliest hotel I've ever stayed in. There's a brownie and a thank-you note in your room when you check in, and the staff are so nice and accomodating. I'm not sure if our cheap-ish rate was because it's a new hotel, but if I can get a similar price when I come back in December I'm totally staying here again.
