We stayed in August for 5 nights and enjoyed every one of them. The location is excellent, a quick 2 blocks to the subway, right near Central Park and the Natural History, and a pleasant stroll straight across Central Park to the Metropolitan (not to mention a Joe's Coffee a short block away - excellent!). The subway line is a local 1 train, so you can ride it to Time's Square, Lincoln Center, Greenwich Village, or take it to the end for Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, can also change just a few stops downtown to connect over to Grand Central Station. We used it frequently, a 7 day subway pass was the best deal for us. The brownstone itself was so charming and comfortable. Monica was away but Larry did a great job telling us about all of the local shops and subway/bus details, etc., and made sure we had his cell in case we had any questions or needed anything. We fully plan to return so we look forward to meeting Monica in the future. The kitchen was nicely stocked, Zabars is only 5 blocks away, and the Fairview grocery store only 8 for all of your gourmet needs (the cheese sections in both are amazing), there are also great little local groceries at either end of the block. We did eat out 2 nights, but chose to make a quick dinner with goodies from the Zabars and Fairview on the other 3 nights. We found ourselves out to sightsee by 9 am at the latest everyday, would get back to our lovely townhouse by 4 or 5, shower, eat and relax, then off to a show at 7 or 8. Being able to have a little down time between the day and the evening was a nice break, and again the subway back down to Times Square was a really quick ride. We loved everything about the suite and have already shared Monica and Larry's website with friends who plan to visit, it is the perfect home base for a stay in NYC.
