This was one of the few Japanese restaurants we hadn't tried & since we were seeing a show and needed an early dinner- it was time.
We sat at the counter which was great. I love seeing the workings of our meal preparation up close. They deliver foods prepped in the kitchen via traditional waiter but the sushi & beer was delivered via long paddle.
As is our usual, we ordered the tasting menu ($50) and were pleased. The selections were good with some creativity (Gelled soup!). The sushi & sashimi were good- I had no complaint. The dessert fell short- green tea ice cream that had obviously thawed & refrozen at some point- it was full of large ice crystals, not creamy at all.
The place was empty when we got there but by the time we left they were full. Our waiter was super nice & took the time to have personal conversation with us which was really nice. Nice enough to make me actually care that this restaurant stays so I can return.
One final bonus, they have a game you can play at the end of your meal in which you draw a skewer from a jar. If your skewer is marked - you get a $50 credit of that nights meal. A steal! & yes- I was a winner :D
