Took my girlfriend on one of these awesome adventures, and let me tell you... It's a real adventure! I am a food guy, and I have lived in NY for 13 years... I had not been to even ONE of the spots Dave took us to. Honestly, I pride myself on knowing great out of the way eateries and this dude has it dialed. Things you must make FF Dave do for you on the trip: Make him rap! The kid can throw down...And every single one of his old school raps has to do with food:) Ya might think you could try doing something like this on your own...I'm not saying you can't, but imagine a guy who does this for a living...He has the hook up and he can park just about anywhere he wants. He also can cut lines, though he won't usually do that unless it's must. Everyone knows him! So not only are you getting the best little bite they can put together for you at each location...Everyone is super nice to you (the guest) and they are usually joking around or poking fun of Dave and we all know the Italians are very good at this:) What I like best is that the food on Dave's tour is not "hipster" food. You won't get a stupid cupcake on his tour...You will get honest-to-God Brooklyn Grub!!! The best of the best. If you don't like feeling like a celebrity for a day...Maybe ask Dave to take you out in the mini van because both the checkered cab and F.F. Dave attract a bit of attention. So, all I'm saying is people will be wondering who you the f___ you are and why you are rolling deep with such a cool guy!

My boyfriend surprised me with the best "day date" ever yesterday! If you haven't yet heard of Famous Fat Daves eating tour yet, then google it right now! Dave picked us up in this amazing old school checker cab, straight out of an nyc classic movie. Right off the bat I was super excited. Dave was awesome! The first five minutes, he gave us a few places we'd go to sample the best of the best. My first line "I believe you"! This guy LOVES NYC! Truly. The way he talks about the food, you're sold. By the way (I've lived in Brooklyn 20+ years).. And yesterday was the first time I went to Bay Ridge and Bed Stuy, crazy I know. Even New Yorkers get a lot of historical info here. The first bite of the cannoli, well had me at first bite.. You know when something's so good you just wanna get up and do a 5 second dance? That good!!! Oh and the atmosphere of the place, (around for decades) can't give too much away was TRUE BROOKLYN!!! Ok so, after egg, cheese and potato ham heros, and the most amazing Asian dumplings (sweet and sour broth soup type o deal) packed with cilantro and green onions.. I wanted more!! We went to a Pastrami spot in Bay Ridge. I'm a huge pastrami fan, my boyfriend knows it, everyone know it. This pastrami... I can't even begin to describe. Perfect meaty, greasy, (not too greasy) yummy goodness!! I just felt really content and happy, Definitely a place I will travel by bus an hour to just for their pastrami sandwich. Dave was hilarious and reallly super informative throughout.. But not obnoxious at all.. Just a cool dude who you'd be best buddies with in a second. Laughs, spacious old taxi, Dave rapping a little, yess!! Ha;) and amazing food. Everyone seems to really love him at these places! In a nutshell, amazing tour for a new yorker (you haven't been everywhere trust me!) and for Tourists?
Wow this must be even more amazing. Just go do it! Now! ;) I'm still thinkin about that pastrami. Thanks Dave for being so cool and giving us such an interesting and fun lil date. Two thumbs Up! - Kasia

If you're reading this, you should book it (And early because the tours get booked up far in advance)! Lots of great food from interesting places outside of Manhattan island and the history of each place which is incredibly interesting - I was on the tour for 5 hours but it felt like so much less because I was never bored. I was full by the end but not in an uncomfortable way. Definitely recommend if you couldn't already tell!

Incredible combination of humour, history, ghost busters facts, good banter and of course ... awesome food! Dave is an awesome dude to hang out with, and he pretty much tailored the tour around what we felt like eating. Took us to some great places that the average tourist probably wouldn't head to, little mom and pop stores in the middle of suburbia far away from any subway stations that have been there since the 1920's. The highlight for us was probably the Double Dipped Gargiullo Burger With Cheese, Onions, And Hot Beef And Extra Beef Broth, amazing.

Dave's food tour is incredible and took us to some fantastic eateries you just wouldn't find without him. We let Dave choose where we ate, and just asked to sample lots of different types of food, which we did! There were so many highlights I'm not sure I can pick a favourite but Steve's Authentic Key Lime pie was the best I have ever tasted and the Torta at Rico's Tacos was immense. There wasn't one place we didn't love and Dave is an an absolutely brilliant guy, what he doesn't know about NY and Brooklyn isn't worth knowing. The trip isn't about haute cuisine, it's about good, honest food that everyone would love. I urge any food lovers out there to take the tour, it was the highlight of our trip and well worth the money!
