“Best Thai experience in NYC”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

I live in a country that completely lacks any Thai restaurants worth mentioning, that said, my review might be biased, as I can only compare the meals I had here with ones from other local Thai restaurants I tried.

I tried several dishes, in two visits to NYC here. This is simply great, while really simple and small, the envoriment is OK. And keeps you aware of all the sounds that comes from the kitchen (I don't mind that). To keep it simple, everything I ate here was really good, or excelent. The green papaya salad is great.

“little thai”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

this very small restaurant located between 2nd and 3rd ave and 53rd st is just a wonderful place to eat thai food!! During our two visits two weeks ago we had the chance to try again the best thai food in town, their curry food and garlic chicken are just awesome. We visit the restaurant every time we are in new yourk. Personel are kind, service is fast, and if you prefer delivery we saw this time many many orders going out, so it must also be great to eat out.
excellent experience, not to miss when in ny

“HORRID”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Worst Thai ever! Ordered take out and got the spicy meatball and spring roll appetizers, duck salad and drunken noodles. My husband and I each took one bite each of the meatballs and in the garbage they went. The were cold, hard as rocks and tough with some type of casing on the outside - almost like a sausage would have but like shoe leather - totally gross. The spring rolls were mediocre at best. Duck salad - tasteless. The drunken noodles were crazy spicy but tasteless if you can imagine how that could be - no flavor, just heat. We like spicy food but this was totally flavorless. We should have stuck with Real Thai on 1st ave and 58th which is so much better but this one is also in the area so we thought we'd give it a try. Never again!

“Good mains, starters not so good”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

As we were staying in NYC with our little one and didn't fancy a trip out for dinner we ordered in. Delivery was mean to take 30mins but ended up being closer to an hour, which when we phoned up was told this was normal for a busy Sunday night?

We ordered the fish cakes which my husband thought tasted of rubber, we did try and bounce one on the ground....The satay chicken did not look at all appealing. We were amazed at the the size of the portion, it was huge, but it looked like minced chicken stuck back on a skewer. If it weren't for the peanut sauce, they would have been abolutely tasteless.

And that's where the moaning ends. Our main courses were delicious! I ordered the Veggie Thai Green Curry. It was spicy, fragrant, full of vegetables and had a good consistency- not too watery and not too thick.

We also Tom Yum Prawn Pad Thai Noodles, which were very fishy, and spicy. Definitely tasty but if you are not into strong tasting Thai fish dishes, best avoid.

We also ordered the Tamarind Fish, which was excellent. Not only was it spicy, but it also crispy, and had a sweet and spicy sauce to it. We would definitely have this again if we were back in NYC.

Each main item came with a portion of rice. Hubby ordered Jasmine but is sure we didn't get it as all three cartons smelt of Basmati rice and there was no labeling to inform us of any difference.

The takeout bill was around $60 and for the amount of food we had was definitely worth it- just avoid the starters we had.

“Average”

This is average thai. It has a good amount of food when you order. Some of the items are shockingly bland. There are a lot of better options.
