This was a very nice hotel. It’s relatively new, and very modern. The lobby and furniture is very nice. The staff and concierge are very nice and helpful. The rooms are small, but beautiful. The bathroom is so modern, room are very clean. We stayed for 1 night, at a good price found on Kayak.com. I would go again, although the parking was not so great -VERY expensive! Location is good, right on Broadway. A bit of a walk to Time Square, but a pleasant one. Great hotel pick in general, we were very happy here! I definitely recommend it !

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor, due to the music on the lobby

Dear Venessa00,

Thank you for choosing the Flatiron Hotel and sharing your recent experience with us. We were pleased to read you enjoyed your stay and thank you also for the high rating. Many of our guests enjoy the proximity to Times Square: it is convenient, but not in the middle of all the activity. Our location is also close to many other New York attractions like the Empire State Building, the High Line Park, Chelsea Piers and Madison Square Park.

We look forward to seeing you here again soon.

the flatiron is a very attractive premises in a very attractive area with very attractive high tech upgrades. all of the common areas are beautifully crafted and decorated and definitely hold fascination to the eye. I was however slightly let down by the quality of the room particularly the bath fixtures. I had expected a great deal more for the high price tag. however the staff of this establishment more than made up for this little detail by going above and beyond anything they could think of to make my stay more pleasing. they offered new rooms and showed them all to me they offered to send champagne and ultimately helped me create a very special and relaxing anniversary celebration. I had originally booked this hotel because I had heard great things about the actual building itself, it was however the staff that made this stay fantastic for us. thank you hotel flatiron I'm sure you will enjoy continued success.

My husband and I stayed at the Flatiron hotel for two nights last week. We were there to celebrate our anniversary to to catch up with old friends because we moved away from NYC 10 years ago.

Location: Perfect for us. We both used to work in the neighborhood, so we're especially comfortable with the area and it was easy for all our friends to come meet us in the Toshi bar downstairs.

Toshi Lounge: Loved it. Added a good vibe to an area that we remember being really dead at night. My husband couldn't help but notice and mention (repeatedly) what a good looking crowd of women were at the bar on Thursday night. Obviously, if we still lived up there, that would be his new Thursday night hangout. :)

The room we were put in on the 9th floor was a good size, so judging by the other reviews on here, ours may have been bigger. The bathroom was especially spacious, so we must have landed a good room. Husband also liked the TV in the mirror. Typical guy. He likes pretty girls and cool gadgets, go figure.

The front desk staff could not have been nicer. We mentioned we were there for anniversary when we checked in and they made a big to-do about it. You would have thought it was our honeymoon instead of our 17th year together. Made us feel very welcome.

Overall, the place was clean, comfortable, safe and welcoming with a funky vibe that made me give it the full five stars. Def planning on staying here again next time. Thanks so much!

Room Tip: Other posters have mentioned loud music and subway noises at night. On the 9th floor, we heard NOTHI...

Dear luna441,

Thank you for your review of your experience at the Flatiron Hotel. It was gratifying to read that a former New Yorker, with a strong basis of comparison, gave us such high marks. We are proud of our team and receive many positive comments about the staff. We will be sure to share yours with them.

Toshi's Living Room is a great asset and differentiator for our property. Our live music nightly provides something unique. We have also hired a new chef (just this week) and will be launching a new menu next month.

We look forward to seeing you back here soon.

Booked a King room and although I didnt expect it to be big, it left me wondering how small the standard rooms might be. There was barely enough room to get out of the bed, the other side of which was pushed right up against the wall making it impossible to reach the curtains to close them.

No room safe and too few working TV channels were the only significant negatives however.

Bathroom was very small, you literally could not fit more than one person in it at any one time.

Room decor was fine and nice to come back to at the end of the day. Bed was very comfortable indeed.

Hallways were decorated in dark colours and given how small the hotel is, made it all the more claustrophobic.

Location is unbeatable, walked right up to Central Park and all the way back down to the financial district without needing to take the subway. Surrounding area also felt totally safe, despite some rundown shops nearby. Everyone is so much friendlier in NYC than London.

Lobby staff were very helpful indeed, although there was a band on when we checked in and it was impossible to hear a word the guy was saying.

We had a breakfast in Toshi's and it was very good.

I wouldnt go back simply because i found the dark decor of the corridors depressing and the lobby too informal, but if you are looking for a good base to explore from, the Flatiron ticks all the right boxes.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter.

Dear 598Savile,

Thank you for your recent review of your experience at the Flatiron Hotel. It was gratifying to read that our staff performed well and we will be sure to share your comments with them. I am sorry that the size of our rooms was disappointing. While small, most of our guests find them well-appointed and the size is not uncommon for New York City.

We do offer in room safes (there is one in the draws beneath the bed) and we too noticed that our corridor light was inconsistent. Two weeks ago, our Director of Operations corrected that and now all the corridors have an appropriate light level. As you shared, and many others as well, our location is very convenient to so many attractions whether one chooses to go by foot, car or public transportation.

I am sorry you indicated you would not choose us again if you are in the area, but hope if you have a change of heart, you will let us know.

We recently spent two nights in the flatiron hotel in one of their two double bed suites and have many positive things to say. The staff were very friendly and very helpful looking after our luggage and recommending local places to go out or have breakfast. The room, although a tad small (Come on, this IS Manhattan) was fully functional and made excellent use of space. All of the amenities were excellent and included free Wi-Fi, a secure safe, two TVs (including one in the bathroom mirror), iron, hair-dryer and one of the best showers I have ever had. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and thoroughly recommend it.

Just returned from a fab five night stay at the Flatiron. E-mailed the hotel 3 months prior to arrival, requesting high floor and nice view and ended up on the 10th - and highest - floor with a street view! Warm welcome from the front desk, easy and quick check in and just a perfect stay. The bathroom mirror-TV was not working and this was fixed directly. Stayed in room 1008 which was a king with a large bed (180 cm), desk and a - by NYC standards - huuuge bathroom. Clean and fresh with a hand held shower in a HUGE shower cabin (could easily fit 8 people in there) with good water preassure. I think that a full length mirror in the room was missing from a wall which was a bit annoying, We used the bathroom mirror instead so not a big deal but would have made going out at night more easy. Also hooks in the bathroom would be nice - we ended up hanging towels on whatever surface we could find.

Some people have written that the neighbourhood is shady, but this is not true at all. The hotel is right by the park with lots of restaurants and shops, 5th av and Broadway. Garbage is left outside of every building in NYC so this is not any kind of weird thing to see at night. You reach Macy's within 10 minutes by foot, and the subway is 2 blocks away (lots of different lines close by actually, but the closest one is just 2 blocks away - one minute by foot). Broadway between 26th and 28th (hotel is on 26th) has some down market shops and sure, you might think this is "shady", but trust me there is nothing unsafe about this area at all. My fifth time in NYC this is by far the best hotel and nicest location I've stayed in - no matter where we were, Times square, The Upper West Side, The Village or Brooklyn, we were always close to home which is perfect when you want to dump the shopping and take a shower before you head out again.

Turndown service consisted of turning down bed + changing towels and emptying trash. A nice touch! Housekeeping was spotless.

Bed was comfy and had drawers in which one could place belongings. There was also a closet with hangers and bathrobes.

Nice lobby with cute fishtank & Toshi's where you could have a drink or dinner. Good live music!

We were not disturbed by Toshi's or subway but keep in mind we were on the 10th floor.

AC worked fine, did not get a chance to look at the gym. Front desk had adapters and when we checked out a faulty minibar charge was corrected without discussion.

I would very much like to recommend The Flatiron - cool, clean and a perfect NYC location with friendly staff! Very nice and by NYC standard very-very nice! Will be staying there again.

Room Tip: King size room was of OK size. Not huge but very big bed and fine for couple, no street noise on 10t...
