one of the best museums i ever visited. very in depth coverage of the immigration: where did they come from, what happened when they arrived in new york, where did they go? with a lot of original pictures, documents and posters. well worth a visit!

An emotional experience - so graphic and such a story of how the United States became the diverse and wonderful country it is.

I've visited Ellis Island each time I've been to New York. This was the port of entry for my grandparents over 100 years ago. While I did plenty of research online, nothing compares with an in person session in the Immigration Research Center. The staff are extremely helpful and you can take away copies of ship manifest and even images of the ships your ancestors sailed on. A must see for anyone interested in our Nation's history or you own history.

I fell in love with this place! Just to feel that you are walking in the footsteps of your ancestors was amazing to me! Finding out how they lived and what they went through! The walls speak wonders in this place! They did a beautiful jub restoring it without removing all the original pieces. Everything from the floor tiles to the door handles etc feel as though you are standing in the past! Amazing!

See how many of our families came to this country from the turmoil of war and poverty - remember, at some point, every single one of us came on a long journey to America!
