“Great lunch spot”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

Had lunch here recently with friends. The fish and chips are always great. Also enjoyed the open face reuben. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices are in line with similar places - ~ $15 per person(no alcohol). Will eat here again.

“Decent place”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

Stopped in at Connolly's to get out of the cold and grab a quick bite to eat. Service was good and the food was surprisingly tasty. Looked like a fine place to linger over a pint or two, but, we did not.

“Pretty Poor”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

My partner and I were recently in NYC over the Christmas holidays, both from Ireland.
We thought it would be nice to pop into an Irish Pub on the trip so booked on Opentable for Connolly's.
On arrival we were 'greeted' by the hostess who gave two menus to a waitress and barked at us to "Follow her" before turning and walking away. We were seated in the isle next to the kitchen despite there being other seats available and had waiters bumping past us for the first 10 minutes that we were there. We asked if we could move table and had to do this ourselves, which is fine if we has been told pleasantly.
The food matched the service really, I ordered a pint of Heineken and got a small glass of the worst Heineken I have ever tasted. It was very obvious that the pipes had not been cleaned in a long time. I got the Gaelic burger which had a stale bun and burnt burger. For desert we asked for the brownie which was again stale and had obviously been heated in a microwave.

With the number of restaurants available in and around Times Sq. I would definitely recommend avoiding this place, take it from an Irish couple, this place is not worth the trip. On top of this they try to avoid checking people in through Opentable, don't know if this is to avoid paying Opentable but I had to deal with emails from Opentable to rectify this.

“Good food and Service”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

Has traditional Irish foods as well as other stuff such as burgers and salads. The food was good and the restaurant was cozy coming off the chilly streets. Not the biggest portions, but enough to keep you filled. The service was good not fantastic, but the manager was always meandering around making sure everyone was alright. All in all it was a pretty good meal that we just stumbled upon.

“Great Irish Pub”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

Connolly's Irish Pub has 4 locations and we have eaten at 2 locations, 45th Street & 54th Street. Both locations are very good, rated by my very Irish wife! The Irish pub food is very good (we had the fish & chips, Shepard's Pie & Irish Stew) as we poped in 3 times to shake off the "chill". It is always fun to sit and listen the Irish chatter! Connolly's has been a regular stop for us on our visits to NYC. The staff is very friendly and the food service is quick, even during the rush of Christmas shoppers. The 45th Street location is only a couple blocks from Times Square.
