Lovely starter, grilled squid and homemad meatballs.
Good wine recomendations fro the waiter/owner of the resturant.
Genuine homecocked italian food in a small noisy resturant with friendly service.
Try it!

Tonight is our last night in NYC and we wanted to have a good dinner to celebrate our finishing honey moon trip. We could not dream of a better place! A warm welcome from who we think is the owner, excellent service, some explanations on the types of pasta. We were not sure about getting an appetizer or not and she recommended we taste the typical Sicilian "Arancino Catanese" (rice ball filled with lamb ragout and then deep fried) - to roll on the floor for! I ordered the Cavatelli funghi e agnello and my husband had the ravioli spinaci e ricotta. Both of us were amazed by the flavour, the original taste of our meals. We finished with a perfect espresso.
Reasonable prices for the neighbourhood and definitely a great value for the money.
Thanks so much all of you at Piccola Cucina, we had a wonderful time and dinner and will most certainly recommend your charming restaurant to whomever will ask us.

Especially the starters were heavenly.... Main course and dessert were good too. But why did they play house music and have theTV on, neither of which were well suited with an otherwise nice atmosphere? And brought down the rating from excellent.....

It was our first night in NY and were looking at some place to dinner. We were welcomed by a very kind sir who talked Spanish, English and Italian. We talked in all those languages. The meal was awsome, very "saporito". I ate a polpo and the rest of the family a piato di pasta. It had a very good price and the piato was huge. We absolutely had one of the best nights of our life. Then we met Filippo, the sicilian chef. The food, the place, the people and the enviroment made that common night of a unforgetable moment.

When you think of a neighbourhood italian, you sometimes think of friendly, family service and heaps of well cooked pasta in a homely sauce. You get very friendly, caring service here but that's where the connection ends.

Piccola Cucina is wonderful find with modern, light, delicate flavors and fantastic dishes. You can go to this small but perfectly formed restaurant for lunch or dinner and be genuinely delighted at the care and thought that has gone into the quality of some great dishes.

My favorites are the Vitello Tonnato ( not to be missed under any circumstances), the delicate beef carpacio and excellent salads such as the Arugula with Grana Padano and cherry tomatoes. In each the ingredients are of the highest quality and the preparation is skilled.

Piccola Cucina is my favorite for lunchtime by myself or with a friend, you can sit in the window or on the small patio onto the street and watch Soho NYC go by. You'll be looked after by great staff and you will leave content and happy.
