Stayed at the Andaz the first weekend of August. Arrived at noon and they were able to check me in immediately (in a different room type but same square footage) so that I could head out. Staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. They don't have a traditional reception desk and decor is modern and pretty. Our room was on the 7th floor on the north tower. Very quiet just didn't have a great view. Shower is big and nice. Low comfortable bed and comfy pillows too. Had breakfast downstairs and it was very expensive. Ate breakfast out the rest of the time. Great location on 5th avenue in front of the New York Library. Close to grand central station, Bryant park and shopping. There is a bar down the street O'Caseys with good food and service. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Got a great rate for a very good hotel.

Been here a couple of times and always welcomed by a friendly group of people at the front desk. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Andaz 5th Avenue is amongst one of the first hyatt properties with an interactive television system which allows you to surf the net, get movies etc. Its pretty cool. The bed is comfortable with a good firm mattress. The bathrooms are well appointed. The bathrooms only have standing showers with a good rain-shower.

The restaurant is pretty good for all day dining. Very decent for hotel food.

Looking forward to my next visit soon !

I travel to NY very often and like staying at different hotel every once in a while. I was very pleased at Andaz and will be staying here as long as they have rooms available every time i go to NY. Great central location but you're not in the craziniess of Times Square. Room sizes are large for NY standards. I loved the free mini bar (not including alcoholic beverages though!) Still it's nice to be able to drink a bottled water knowing it won't cost you $10!

The location of this hotel is fantastic. The hotel is very unique with a modern decor. The rooms are simple and spacious. We enjoyed the free mini bar (non alcoholic), wifi and the complimentary wine tasting in the evenings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.

My second trip to Andaz was with my sister. Once again, I was very pleased with my stay. We had a great twin room. The rooms are large and modern compared to other NYC hotels. The bed was super comfy with really nice linen and duvet.
Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the mini fridge are free and replenished each day. Free internet. We loved the coffee and fruit in the morning.
The shower isn't very private, but we made it work.
I think the strong point of this hotel is the staff and the atmosphere. Someone looks after you from the time you come in, until the time you leave.
Special mention to Tessa, Peter, Joe, Amanda, and Adrian, who went out of their way to make our stay great, and our outings easy. They were all pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful when we asked for information.
I highly recommend this hotel. We'll be returning.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have a great view of the library and the street.

The Andaz is a unique hotel in so many ways. The rooms are gorgeous, the service from check in to breakfast excellent and the location is fantastic. The GM is Australian and you can see he has added little touches such as a good cup of tea that can really make a stay. The whole stay was seamless. I loved the free mini bar and wi fi. Nice work. I will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Views on 41st ave quieter than 5th
