“Forget that "blue box"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2013

Great mac n cheese here! While there is a classic 4-cheese option, this is the place to go when you want a more exciting variety. My best friend enjoyed the Cheeseburger Mac, while I inhaled the Mac Quack - chunks of duck, caramelized onions, and lots of fontina cheese on top. Mmm so good! The both of us got smalls and it was more than enough since it is so rich. In fact, because of this, we ate ours in two sittings.

My only gripe is that the place is SO small - there's only 3 small tables here. Luckily, there's a few city benches along the sidewalk that can be used as makeshift mac n cheese dining spots when the weather is decent. Luckily, the delicious food more than makes up for this fact, so don't miss Macbar for a quick bite to eat! [In fact, you can't miss it since it is BRIGHT yellow haha.]

“Thumbs Up”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2012

Mac and Cheese lovers will adore this place. The menu is fun and the eats are great. I recommend the Four Cheese, Mayan Chipotle, Quack Mack and Mack Stroganoff. During busy hours finding seats is tricky, but its worth the wait.

“Grand Daddy of Mac & Cheese”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2012 via mobile

Tried the Mayan Chipotle & Carbonara from this place recently and have to say this is the Grand Daddy of Mac & Cheese.

This stuff is very rich so even a big eater will be fine with a medium.

The Mayan had a little bit of a bite but was a great way to jazz up Mac & Cheese. The carbonara had a nice traditional charcoal flavor.

The store it self is very small inside, just 3 low tables sitting 2 people each, so we just got them to go and ate at hotel.

Definitely worth another visit when in NYC

“Want great Macaroni & Cheese? Come here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2012

On a visit to NY my girlfriend and me wanted to have some excellent Macaroni & cheese for dinner one evening. We looked at a few places but this one stood out. We went there, bought the original Macaroni & Cheese and did not regret it one bit.

First the downside; the location is so small that you are pretty much forced to do take-away because there are only a few seats. In our case that's what we had planned anyway so worked fine for us. (Note though that if you want a proper sit down dinner, there is a restaurant just next door, Delicatessen which serves the same Macaroni & Cheese - though it's pricier.)

Now to the food; it was really good. A lot of choices on the menu for different types of Macaroni & Cheese, but my girlfriend and I decided to go for the original, which we got all wrapped up and ready to go in about 10 minutes or so. Great food, friendly staff, efficient, well priced - overall great choice for dinner!

All in all, this is already one of the restaurants we will be back at when we're back in NY.

“I love the food here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

I love the food here and I don't even like traditional Mac n cheese. I've had the Duck confit, rueben, and carbonara and all were really delicious. My girlfriend has tried the stroganoff, cheeseburger, and one other (can't remember which) and she liked them with the exception of the stroganoff which we both found a bit bland. The service is polite and the order only takes 5-10 minutes. There isn't a lot of room to sit down so on a busy day plan on taking it to go. Definitely worth stopping in though.
