We were travelling on business during Super Bowl weekend. We accidentally booked the room for one night on Expedia when we actually wanted to book two nights. When we called the hotel, they said they could not do anything about it because it was booked through a third party (i.e. Expedia). They refused to book the second night for us because they have a policy that says we have to book two nights minimum. We eventually gave up trying to give them more money and booked another hotel for the second night.
Overall the hotel was clean but the room was noisy due to the very close proximity to Times Square and poorly insulated windows. Normally I wouldn't fuss about that but we weren't there for the Super Bowl, we were working.

Great location Times Square a block away, Hotel recently refurbished, but waning on the A1 Perfect status, that said because of all the silly reviews on here, the fact being a VERY minor negative considering the negative comments also consider Location and Price, extremely good value for clean rooms and the best mattress I have ever slept on including the pillows for any hotel I have been a guest, WELL DONE MILFORD, we stayed 14th Feb 2014 to17th in room 1824, rear view not so interesting but we were out 18 to 20 hrs a day and came back to a clean room and well serviced to a good nights sleep, NO Noise as on the rear!

Room Tip: No Pool to know about and restaurant was a coffee come breakfast area, No BIG problem though as load...

Just arrived home from a long weekend at The Milford...check in was ultra quick, staff very obliging and we had a room with the most fantastic views of NYC...but the best part was how comfortable the bed was.. It was like heaven after a long day walking in NYC.
Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels and a very powerful shower
Very clever lifts which never had you waiting for more than a minute and a very large lobby with bar and internet access which we often used.
Location is key when you consider The Milford...less than 5 mins walk past all the lovely theatres and your in Times Square
All in all our experience at the Milford was fantastic and I would recommend to all!

Stayed here for 5 days early Feb 2014. Initially thought the rooms were rather small and the paintwork a bit shabby in places, but the beds were SO comfortable and cosy. The bed linen clean and fresh. Towels changed every day.Hallways surprising quiet at night. Hotel bar a very nice atmosphere of an evening and free internet usage in lobby for half hour a day welcome to look up maps etc. Only criticism - really not keen on sliding bathroom door- offers no real privacy.
Most of the staff extremely helpful and friendly, and a great location, walking distance to theatres restaurants, bars and shops. Definately recommend.

Room Tip: Remember if you are going to New York you are really only using your room to sleep and shower, so sp...

My first trip to New York. Didn't know what to expect but overall this hotel was great. Clean room, brilliant housekeeping. Room wasn't huge but enough for a base, the only downside is there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room so taking drinks back to the room was a pain but that said you are out most of the day so it was only an issue at night. Storage is an issue with limited hangers, safe provided, Hairdryer and Iron. Door staff and security very friendly and welcoming. Desk staff need to work on their welcoming skills more.

Air con units are very noisy but the do the job and you can turn these off. We stayed over a weekend and it got very busy on the Saturday night. We also had an issue with our room smelling of weed on the Friday and Saturday and I thought I was imagining it at first, I ended up turning out air con unit off to get the smell out, it seemed to be coming from the room next door who at 4am decided to have a drunken argument. We didn't let it spoil out break and chalked it down to the experience.

There are 8 lifts, 4 for Evens 4 for Odd or that was hoe it seemed to work and on busy nights it was hard to get a lift and when it did arrive it was usually full. Don't be afraid to choose different floors on the lifts to get an elevator, we found choosing the floor above or below seemed to work and jump out and in another.. otherwise we waited quite a long time and the corridor on our floor (17) was extremely warm.

A pain not having wifi but loads of places nearby have it for free. Great places to eat locally if you do your research and head away from the main avenues to avoid crazy queues and higher prices.

Location is perfect for most attractions or close enough to a subway station to get around the city.

Getting to an from the hotel is so easy if you aren't afraid of the Subways. The E train/line gets almost to within walking distance of most attractions and between the subway and the Air-train getting to and from JFK is so easy, $16 one way is so cheap and very quick.

Loved it so much already planning my return didn't have enough time to see and do everything we wanted.

We've made dozens of trips to NYC and we've stayed at a number of hotels. Without a doubt the Milford is our favorite. Great location, art deco design, friendliest staff in NYC, recently remodeled accommodations. The rooms are not huge, but there are comfortable beds, warm comforters, thick towels, great smelling soap and shampoo and the best shower head in any hotel that I've every stayed in. The Milford is one block from Times Square, surrounded by great restaurants and the local double decker tour busses are nearby. There is a very nice lounge in the hotel. You will not be disappointed.

This was our first visit to the hotel and WOW, what a value for the price! The Milford is located in the heart of Times Square and we were only steps from everything! Room was clean. Staff was very helpful. We look forward to staying at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view. It adds to the whole New York experience.
