Spent a few nights with my friends at this hotel and we did pick it for its location. Usually, I don't spend much time at the hotel, while in NY, but the rooms were clean and quiet for NY standards. We were eating out, so I can't comment on food. One annoying thing though were the elevators, as I reckon there were not enough of them, for the capacity of this hotel. As a result, you might be waiting a long time to get into one. Last but not least, the price is very reasonable for the location.

My sister, neice and I shared a double room on a recent 4 day visit to New York. Although the hotel was only one block from Time Square, it was quiet (or at least as quiet as it ever gets in New York!). We had a great view of the Hudson River and were able to walk to most places of interest very easily. The staff were lovely and very helpful. There is a fabulous little cafe in the lobby with well-priced breakfast stuff and great cappucinos! There was free internet access and printing facilities in the lobby area. Room was small, but very comfortable and functional, as well as stylish. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor with a view

Ideal location for theatre goers, around the corner from Times Square. Although the room was smaller than we're use to, it was clean & comfortable with a beautiful view of the Hudson. Nice lounge & Bar with very comfortable seating. This Hotel is very contemporary, but very nice. The Hotel staff were friendly. Would definitely stay again if given the oportunity.

I'm not overly crazy about this hotel. I only stayed here for one night because the hotel I wanted to stay wasn't available for my entire stay in the city. For £374 on a Tuesday night, I expect better and unlike others, I don't feel like I got what what paid for.

Pros:
- Great Central location just off Times Square
- The room was clean (should I even list this as a pro?)
- Comfy bed

Cons:
- Staff were not overly friendly but were polite enough - just enough.
- Feels "cheap" - not even a hint of luxury - no coffee maker, no room service, no extras whatsoever
- Shoddy construction - thin walls, apparently an older hotel that has been renovated.
- Tiny room (reminded me of a college dorm room)
- Commons areas/hallways hot and littered
- Extremely crowded, crazy with a manic touristy feel. The touristy feel from the street just carries right into the hotel and not in a pleasant way.

Four stars is stretching it... a lot! Would not recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Although we are glad to hear you found our location to be convenient and our rooms to be clean, we regret to hear we did not meet your expectations regarding your room size. Last weekend my daughter and I stayed in New York City for her 13th birthday. We wanted to stay in Times Square but also had a budget in mind since we were going back to school shopping as well while we were in town. We stay in NY quite often, and from years of traveling there with my son when he worked as an actor, I have become somewhat of an unofficial specialist of the area.
I researched many hotels on top of considering some of the boutique ones that we have stayed in prior that were relatively cheaper than most but could not find anything that made me say 'WOW". That was until I came across ROW NYC. In all honesty the price and location caught my eye right away. Those of you who have stayed in NYC before know that finding a hotel you can trust in a popular location under the $300.00 mark can be extremely tricky.
I decided to call the hotel directly to see if they offered any travel agent discounts. The rep who answered was super nice and although she did not have a TA discount to apply, she did however offer me a 10% lower rate which brought the one night stay to a grand total of $149.00 for a Premium City View room. I almost fell off my chair. To be quite honest I really assumed we would show up and have a hard time checking in or end up staying in one of those dirty little hotels that Photoshop their website pictures. Luckily to my surprise that was not the case.
The hotel is in the heart of Times Square on 8th ave. between 44th and 45th avenues. They have just gone through a major renovation and it is beautiful, modern and super clean. I am sure, if you were a product of the 80's, you will remember it's old name 'The Milford Plaza' (you may not be able to get that catchy song out of your head now) after you enter and walk up a flight of stairs (or take the elevator) you are in the lobby where you will find check-in, guest services, an area filled with 8 Mac desktops for use of their guests, the lounge, and a small convenience type store. We actually ended up arriving at the hotel 4 hours before check-in. We do this often when traveling into the city and just leave the bags with the bell hop and check-in when we come back from shopping etc. However, they were more than happy to allow us to check in right away at 12:00 pm (check-in was not officially till 4:00 pm). They said our room was ready and sent us on our way with a smile. We had taken the train in that day and hiked a good 15 blocks with our luggage and were very excited to be able to freshen up.
The hotel decor is edgy and cool. Upon arriving at our room there was a neat mural of a women bending down to pet a dog in the city street that made it hard to tell if it was even a door but in a fun way. Entering the room reminded me somewhat of a cabin on a cruise ship, clean and compact. The bathroom in this room was not only the cleanest bathroom we have ever witnessed in NYC but one of the cleanest in any hotel we have ever stayed in. It is very hard to find a super clean white bathroom especially while visiting the city.
We had a queen sized bed which was soft and comfortable, a flat screen t.v. and a desk area. They also offer free WiFi for guests who are staying at the hotel which is always a plus.
We did not eat in the hotel but if you wanted to there was a very neat lounge area that was a cafe by day and a pizza bar by night. Opening this fall is a new dining experience called City Kitchen. Since we were literally just footsteps away, we ended up grabbing a bite from Juniors which is always a hit with us (specially when we only have a 15 minute wait). If you were looking to see a show you are right there in the theater district which is a great time.
The day we were checking out from our stay at the ROW NYC we were on our way later that day to the One Direction concert. We crossed our fingers and asked if there was anyway we could possible request a late check-out so we had time to get ready and relax before heading to the concert. They allowed us to check-out at 1:00 pm which was their final way of proving to me why I should send my clients back to them without a doubt to this hotel.

You can't beat this hotel's location for walking to Time Square, Hop & Go Bus, & Broadway shows - many restaurants in the neighborhood & 2 blocks from the Port Authority bus terminal (to catch an econmical coach ride to the airport). The decor is smartly chic but best of all the staff are friendly & helpful. We stayed four nights and had so many positive interactions staff. Who says New Yorkers are unfriendly? Obviously someone who did not stay at Row NYC! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise.

All and all it was alright. You get what you pay for. When we checked in there were stains on the bed sheets and some hair. We called the front desk to have them changed out the sheets before we left the hotel to walk around Times Square. It was about 4 pm. When we got back probably around 7 or 8 they still haven't got to it. So my husband went down to the lobby and talk to someone at the front desk about it. They finally came up and changed it. Another thing that we didn't appreciate, is that the room hallway wasn't conditioned. It was hot and humid as soon as we step out of our room. We stayed for 2 nights and checked into Westin, much nicer hotel. ROW NYC's lobby is nicely decorated. Pretty hip and cool feel to it. If on a budget definitely look into this.

Dear Sambert1976,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Although we are glad to hear you appreciated our modern signature style in the lobby area, we regret to hear of the inconveniences you experienced in your guestroom. These are most definitely not our cleanliness service standards, nor are they the ones we wish to propagate. I have notified the appropriate departments heads to further investigate this concern, so it will not affect guests in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your confidence in us, and showcase the side of Row NYC we are exceedingly proud of upon a future stay. Thank you again for your feedback.
