“Hit & miss w some dishes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2013

Didn't like the tiny space & school cafeteria style dinning. Loved the scallops w grilled asparagus & picked ginger. Bak choy & chickpeas were interestingly strange. I enjoyed it but my friends didn't. Banana leaf tau foo - not my fav but my friends liked it. All of us loved the squid w chickpeas & 2 of us didn't like the truffle goat cheese crab pizza. Nxt came the st food burger & lamb shank - we loved the garlic fries & sweet potato fries. By the time these dishes arrived we were too full.

“Marvelous dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

smallish narrow attractive space, we have wanted to try this place for over a year, got reservations for a Tuesday night, pleasant attentive service, decided on the chef's 7 course tasting menu with wines, the chef came out to great us and readily attended to my wife's minor dietary restrictions, portions were generous and wonderfully seasoned, their signature Graffiti burger was amazing, the ceviche was excellent, the tartare was very good, everything beautifully plated, chef and service provided an ideal tempo to the meal, overall the meal was marvelous - though 7 courses is a bit too much for us, we will definitely return when in town

“great experience...some suggestions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

I have been wanting to go to this place ever since they opened up ( 1 year ago ?)
I must say, food is fantastic (specially, the scallops) and service is great.
3 glasses of wine + 4 Items from the menu totaled up to $100 (excluding Tips).

The $17 menu items are pretty filling...they are like your entree options in a regular restaurant. The $14 items are like appetizer portions.

Some suggestions:
1. The wine menu is confusing...not many choices.
2. The amount of wine served for $12-14/glass is not fair...you can do better
3. Menu needs more sea-food options

I will definitely go back.

“Exciting menu, great service and low key”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2013

Our original dinner plans had been affected by a snowstorm, we were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday and were so pleased to have had the pleasure of eating at Mehtaphor. The staff quickly worked hard to arrange seating (it is very narrow and a smaller space as others note). There are large long wooden tables that were able to accommodate all of us. Since there were so many of us, we were able to order many different items which was a lot of fun. The food was very good and had something for everyone. I would definitely go back and recommend to others. It had a relaxed feel to it as well. We were there later in the evening but felt like we could have stayed all night.
