My teenage daughter and I visited NYC to celebrate her birthday. Having been impressed by other Kimpton properties we chose to stay at The Muse and what a great decision that was. It could not have been more conveniently located (steps from Times Square) and the attentiveness of every member of the staff was unsurpassable. As soon as the front desk staff caught wind that it was my daughter's birthday, they coordinated a wonderful surprise to help her celebrate. The concierge service was second to none, having arranged car service, exceptionally placed tables at restaurants difficult to get reservations at, and providing great advice on any topic presented to them. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at this wonderful establishment.

We stayed at The Muse 2 adults and 2 teenage kids for 7 nights. Booked it 5 months in advance to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and my wifes 40th bday. Asked for a quite room previously but instead allocated a room where building work started at 6:45 every morning. No need for an alarm clock!!!
Staff friendly enough especially Sarah, Rodriguez and Marc.
Bellmen accommodating too.
Cleaned every day.
Good enough for our stay.

We stayed at the Muse in early August. The room was very comfortable, and the staff very helpful. Based on some reviews, we requested a quiet room; when we checked in, the staff member mentioned this, and our room was quiet. We are in touch members. It's definitely worth joining for the free wifi and the email letting you know about special rates. We had a very good summer rate. As has been mentioned, rooms are typically NYC small. That was fine for what we paid, but I'm not sure we would have been as happy if we were paying more than double in the fall or spring.
The neighborhood is very convenient, but we did find the proximity to Times Square a bit too central. We decided that we prefer the Park 70 Kimpton because it is in the much quieter Murray Hill neighborhood. However, both hotels are very good. It's a neighborhood preference.

This is a fantastic boutique hotel, steps away from times square and nearly everything in Manhattan. The service was fantastic, the concierges were helpful, bellman were pleasant and friendly and the room was clean and spacious for the city. Even the cleaning staff was smiling and happy to see you, which I've never seen before.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet, very little city noise could be heard. We were at the front of the hotel facing 46th.
Thanks for being a part of a fantastic weekend!

The muse has a great location, few steps from Times Square, in the heart of theater district. The hotel is very chic, nice rooms, clean environment. The concierge and the reception desk staff are super accommodating. Free coffee and free newspaper in the lobby. David the bellman was very helpful and friendly. Thanks Dave. A good experience if you like Small boutique hotels. Many nice cafes around for a good breakfast.

The Muse Hotel is a great find in Manhattan. The location can't be beat--just off Times Square, yet it's actually quite quiet! We walked to Central Park, Rockefeller Center and through the theater district, and there are quite a few subway lines within a block or two. The hotel common areas are comfortable, and staff are friendly and helpful. We rented two rooms, and one had a balcony. You don't find many hotels with balconies in Manhattan! Ours had two lounge chairs and a table and three chairs. It was fantastic to sit outside on our patio with a glass of wine. The room decor was quirky but tasteful, with very comfortable beds. Be sure to join the Kimpton In Touch program; we were provided a delicious platter of cookies and certificates for a mini bar credit--a very nice welcoming touch!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony

There is just no words to tell you how great the service by front desk, bell staff and best of all the doormen ((David in particular).are! very friendly and accommodating from check in to check out. This was our second trip to this hotel, and the door man remember me from 2 years earlier. Our room was lovely but small the first time there in June 2010, but this time in June 2012, we had a gorgeous and spacious room. The nightly complimentary wine hour is such a beautiful idea, as everyone has a chance to meet and mingle and we be made new friends each time because of these opportunities and have learned a lot of tips about NY from thes other visitors such as restaurants to sights that should be hit and or some to be missed. This trip however, the only "not" positive experience was in the restaurant in the morning for the complimentary breakfast. No direction from staff on process, ie: seat ourselves? Food selection was minimal and staff were very unattentive and uninterested to the point of being a bit rude. The hotel decor is so fabulous. Every inch is modern, chic and comfortable. Overall - you can be assured I will continue to go back. I heart NY and if you do too and want to be close to or in Times Square - I would highly recommend this property"
