Our sons are both working in New York this summer. We needed a hotel located in midtown Manhattan. A friend of mine recommended The Benjamin, and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else now! First off we arrived a bit early and were offered immediate check-in but when I asked if we could have a room high above the street, we were told it would be an hour before one would be ready. Vicki at the front desk advised us to wait since a very quiet sleeping environment is what we are used to at home. She was so welcoming, and friendly. We went into the National to have a drink while we waited. Vicki had the room ready for us in 15 minutes! Her advice to wait was well placed! The room was very quiet at night, and lovely. We asked for extra towels, which were provided every day. The concierge desk is staffed by the most competent individuals one could hope for. We wanted to dine at several very popular restaurants all of which do not take reservations until 30 days out, and fill up within a day or two. We were going to be out of the country, with no access to the internet or phone service. We emailed a list of the reservations we wanted to Gina, and she and Sarah made every one of the reservations we requested for us!! They were so friendly and very professional. Upon our arrival we met Tom who continued providing the very friendly and profession service we had from Gina and Sarah. The few occasions that we had to work with Ana (spelling) were just as helpful, and professional as with her colleagues. Everyday when we left the front desk employees were smiling and wishing us a great day. The doormen are absolutely delightful! They are helpful, and cheerful also. Several people have recently told my husband that he looks like Sean Connery. One of the doormen, Jonathan, enjoyed making my husband smile by calling him Mr. Connery, instead of Dr. Lewis! My husband loved it! Again the entire staff makes a very large, and imposing city seem very small and welcoming! When we left both Vicki and Karianne (spelling) were so accommodating in answering our questions about how best to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of my bucket list items! The restaurant at the hotel is wonderful. We enjoyed our meal there, and again were very impressed with the service. This hotel is very close to metro stops, and super easy to get a taxi from. We highly recommend The Benjamin not only for the hotel amenities, but for the very professional and friendly staff! Thanks to all of you for a great week in the big apple!!!

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room if you want the room very quiet at night. There is not a view from these room...

This was my first time staying at the Benjamin and I don't think I'll stay anywhere else from now on. Since I stepped foot in the hotel it was non stop service with a smile. My room was amazing and the view from my terrace was spectacular, especially during sunset. Tip :Ask for a high floor and away from the elevator. The restaurant definitely makes this hotel because it was superb. Everyone at the front desk was great, especially Elias ,Great staff...

Classic luxury hotel with a boutique feel. The Benjamin has a great location in Midtown with shopping, great restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The hotel restaurant, The National, has a great atmosphere with a professional crowd.

Room Tip: I'm not sure what level room I received, but very spacious, comfortable with a small kitchenette...

We have been staying at The Benjamin for ten years, multiple times per year for extended stays. All the staff are top notch. Need a taxi Mohahmed, the evening doorman will hunt one down for you. Hartman, David, Omar handle the front desk with ease and do all that they can to insure we have what we need. Sarah, the Concierge is a wealth of information. The Nat'l restaurant has consistent food either within the restaurant or room service. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. In 2013 we spend nearly 50 days at this property. In 2014 we are likely going to exceed that number. Love the selection of pillows from their sleep menu.

Room Tip: If you don't want to hear the street noise, ask for a room that has windows that face the back o...

We were the people who LOVED the 2 bedroom penthouse suite a few years ago. For the past 2 years it was GREAT! This year they changed it to a 1 bedroom penthouse. Now if you book a 2 bedroom suite you get a MUCH MUCH smaller room with a TINY balcony. BUYER BEWARE! You can get a MUCH better and bigger 2 bedroom suite from other hotels in the city. In addition, since we weren't staying in the penthouse it seemed like they didn't care about us. In the past we received special little dolls or stuffed animals for our two daughters. This trip? Not even a thank you note (even though I notified the concierge of our arrival weeks before arriving. It's a decent hotel, but, suites aren't worth it anymore. You can get a better two bedroom suite, with a MUCH bigger balcony, next door at the Kimberly.

Stay at the Benjamin. You will not be disappointed. Location was great (mid town) to subway, cafes, restaurants, and drugstores. The best attribute of the Benjamin Hotel is its staff, from housekeeping to front desk to doorman (Elias is the best-even making sure that I got my early early wake up call for the ride to JFK),

Room Tip: the 350 sq. ft. room is roomy. The 550 sq. ft. rooms are the best with a separate sitting area (wi...
