We had a great stay at the RC. Everything was as expected and we were given a late check out at no extra cost.

The only thing that we were not happy about was an email request to the hotel that went completely unanswered. Pity.

We passed on the restaurant - the prices (plus 18% gratuity, taxes) were completely ridiculous relative to the menu. Same applies to the spa.

Pop around the corner and you can eat and 'spa' just as well for a fraction of the cost...and still come back/wake up to a cosy room at the Ritz.

My husband and I stayed here in March 2009 (Yes, this review is late..sorry). We booked a room with a water view, but the view was pretty lousy (no water). Apart from that, the room was beautiful and large with a fantastic bathroom! The bar has a wonderful view looking out at Lady Liberty. The hotel is a short walk to the subway. We loved walking around this area - it was peaceful and lovely. Would highly recommend!

Lifelong NY area residents, but in Manhattan for a reunion
at this hotel. Wonderful location - south end of Battery Park
opposite the Statue of Liberty. Drove in - parking valet
service best ever! You feel like a queen and king from the
moment they open your car doors and walk you to the
front door! (Not to mention beautiful/famous guests
all around you).
Check in quick and very welcoming. Nowadays hotel
check ins can be either long wait or not friendly.
Small but beautiful lobby. Lovely little restaurant off
lobby. Beautiful fresh floral arrangements all over.
Bell hop service excellent.

Room was not as large as expected but fine.
Very comfortable bed (important since husband
has bad back). Large luxurious bathroom (needs
nonslip plush floormats). Best feature - THE VIEW!
Upgraded room on 4th floor - View of The Statue
of Liberty! And there's a telescope! Wow! One of
the best views in the world and we've traveled a lot.

Restaurant uneven - food great, service very good,
kitchen very very slow. Had Sat. lunch/Sun. brunch.

Reunion meeting - rooms could have been more
luxurious, service good not great or cheerful,
food good but not at all great (and we paid plenty).
Expected more from large upscale black tie dinner at
the Ritz, especially in NYC - a world food capital.

My 16-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park for the first time recently. We visit New York on a regular basis and usually stay close to Central Park. We loved the room at the Ritz. The bathroom was extremely large for a New York hotel and had a separate toilet room (which made it very easy to share a bathroom with a teenager). The location is ideal for visiting the Statue of Liberty, riding the Staten Island Ferry, or seeing the World Trade Center Memorial, and it is an easy walk to South Street Seaport. We enjoyed our stay and found the beds to be extremely comfortable. The hotel is lovely and staff is wonderfully attentive (my daughter particularly loved the complimentary cupcake left in the room for her), but we will probably return to a location that is more convenient to the rest of Manhattan for our next visit to New York.

The Ritz Carlton, Battery Park is a wonderful choice for those traveling to Manhattan for business or pleasure. Located right on the water, overlooking the Statue of Liberty, my room came with a telescope to enhance viewing of the iconic symbol of our country. I found the room to be spacious and functional. Meeting facilities were quite comfortable. The service?... Ritz Carlton service at its best... Very attentive, polite and friendly. The room rate is pricey, but not by New York standards. If you are looking for a great place to stay in the Battery Park area, the Ritz Carlton is a great choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Statue of Liberty

The staff of this hotel makes this hotel a Ritz-Carlton experience. The rooms are not as lavish as some other Ritz-Carltons, but they are in slightly better condition than some of Ritz-Carlton's aging properties. The deluxe water view rooms offer great views of the Statue of Liberty and Battery Park. A spotting scope is provided in these rooms making for good sites and people watching. I have also stayed in a Club Executive Deluxe Suite, which was nearly double in size but had a fairly boring city view. When I asked to see a deluxe room with a water view the next day, I immediately realized that it was worth sacrificing space for a view at this hotel. Overall, it was a good experience. Room service and food quality was good as well.

We stayed there as part of a group biking in the Five Boro Bike Tour, which begins at Battery Park, and it was the perfect place.

I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the hotel was for our rather motley crew of bikers. The staff didn't blink an eye as we pulled up and unloaded bicycles and associated gear. They had a bike valet service, storing the bikes inside the hotel and bringing them out early Sunday for our ride. The doormen were very helpful. They also distributed sports drinks and bars the morning of the tour.

Our room was beautifully appointed and the bath spacious. Stretching out in the tub after the 40 mile ride was pure heaven.

We will definitely be back for next year's tour and will stay here again!
