We stayed here in December of 2013 before New Years for a weekend and loved it! The hotel is beautiful and modern and the lobby is actually much bigger than it looks in pictures. We ate dinner the first night at the restaurant and it was great! We actually booked just a regular room with the Statue of Liberty view and were upgraded to a suite on the 10th floor. The view was stunning!

The staff at the hotel were very helpful, and they basically accommodate to any of your needs. My son has braces, and needed wax to put on one of his teeth to prevent one of the wires from rubbing against his gums and of course one of the staff members found a CVS that carried it and brought it right way to my son. This just shows the level of service that the ritz upkeeps.

Overall, great hotel, outstanding service, beautiful rooms, and a wonderful location, especially in the spring and the winter!

Room Tip: Book the Statue of Liberty View -- its worth the extra money!

We have stayed at this property 4-5 times in recent years - loving the views and the quieter end of Manhattan. After a minor, albeit avoidable, error in our reservation for a special weekend, this property shined from top to bottom. The staff genuinely care about this property, and from the minute the front doors open, this property says Ritz Carlton. We might imagine the financial titans they care for given their proximity to Wall Street, though not a detail was lost on we poor folk from New England. Thank you for helping restore my confidence in your service model and brand.

Room Tip: If you choose and they have availability, the rooms facing the Statue of Liberty are magnificent. Al...

Loved the ambiance of this hotel. High class, modern feel. Our room was huge - a corner suite with a view of the Statue of Liberty and our room had a telescope. One TV in our living room and one in the bedroom. There was even a bidet in the bathroom. In the dining room, there was a bose music player. Kitchen was not stocked. Actually, our suite had 1.5 bathrooms which made it great for entertaining. There was no noise to be heard while we were in our room from outside or others in the hotel. Check in was quick. We ate breakfast on a Sunday morning in the restaurant, and we had to order from the menu. While there were nice choices, I would have liked a buffet. Had to walk about a block to the subway. The park to catch the boat to the Statue of Liberty was currently under construction, but should be open soon.

Wow, these people know how to make you feel welcome! Every employee makes eye contact and smiles. Quite extraordinary.

The facilities are very nice. My room was very clean with a view of the Statue of Liberty. I took advantage of the complimentary overnight shoe shining service.

The fitness center has several treadmills and other cardio equipment, weights and weight machines, and lots of windows. The service at the restaurant was good, although the food was ordinary.

The hotel is a short walk from the Bowling Green subway station. The 4/5 trains can deposit you at Grand Central in just a few minutes. Sitting at the lower end of the island, it is quieter than many other locations.

I would be happy to stay here again.

This hotel was lovely. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean with very comfy bed.
The telescope that was supplied in room to view the east river and statue was awesome.
The restaurant was busy (good sign) and I was not disappointed with quality of food.
Concierge was very helpful explaining best shows to see and supplying maps and helpful hints.
All in all would definitely stay again.

The Ritz is an excellent hotel. My room was large, modern, clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. My room service order arrived right on time. And the price of the room, at least by Manhattan standards, was reasonable: $350 for one night. I did not give this 5 stars because service at the restaurant was poor, although the food was excellent.

Ask for a room with water views. They are terrific.
