It is centrally located, across from the charming Bryant Park and half block from Fifth Avenue. Subway stops are right there, too. Our room was clean, and the shampoo smelled very refreshing. However, the beds were okay, not luxurious, and the room was dark because the shade was closed due to an alleyway outside. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the door men, to the front desk, to the concierge, to the bell boys. They made us feel welcome.

The hotel was okay. The staff were a bit odd: on checking in, we were greeted with "well check out the high rollers! Staying in a Bryant Park Suite!!". I get the check-in guy was being friendly, but you would not get this at The Mandarin Oriental. The room was nice, big and light. The furniture was very uninspiring: in particular the dining and coffee tables were very student accommodation-ey. Like other reviewers, we appreciated the huge bathroom. We did not appreciate the charge to use Wi-Fi - come on people, it's 2010: make it free, or go the whole hog, and have coin-operated TVs too. The event which characterises our stay most is the crowd at The Cellar Bar. As one of my New York friends put it: "this is the worst bridge and tunnel scene I have seen in Manhattan EVER'. There were girls in bunny ears; guys in pimp suits; and girls in hot-pants-in-butt-crack: not a good look. There appears to be no door policy, and the hotel is situated within moments of the Lincoln Tunnel and the Port Authority building: figure it out. Koi was lovely, but the descent from there after dinner to the bar was scary. Like other reviewers, the doormen were either absent or unhelpful.

Arrived at the hotel after an 8 hour flight and then 2 hours to get through Immigration to be greated by really friendly staff and a nice surprise of being upgraded to a junior suite. The room was like a studio apartment, great size and space. Concerige was very helpful with resturants and train journeys out of the city. Location is fantastic - you are a minutes walk to fifth ave and less than 5 mins to times square. Our flight back was cancelled due to the BA strikes and the hotel kindly allowed us late check out as the next flight back was in the evening.

I am gutted as we wanted to check out the cellar bar however both friday and sat night we had other plans and the bar was closed on the sunday. The bar is very popular and people (non residents) are willing to queue to get in. Next time I will defo try it out.

We did get a good deal through hotels.com as I will sure be staying at this hotel next time I visit NY.

My company meeting was held at the Bryant Park Hotel this year and i have to share that the servixces and the location is great. Darren at the front desk is wonderful Adolfo Ramirez was great as he offers the conference room was great with a very nice view and at a great price. The hotel is close to Times Square and the food is great.

The BPH is a great choice for a weekend getaway. Conveniently located near all major NYC transportation hubs, the BHP is a perfect destination for a great NYC getaway whether you are coming from abroad or across the river. The rooms are hip, clean, relaxing and soo quiet - the perfect little oasis for an afternoon nap or a regenerating night's sleep. For those wanting a little more action there is a lively bar/night club called the Cellar. The hotel overlooks Bryant Park and the New York Public Library and is in easy walking distance of great shopping, great restaurants and the Broadway theatre district. The staff are attentive and sincerely accommodating. The only disappointment was that I only stayed two nights.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and got some R&R. You have to return when the lawn at Bryant Park is open across from us. You can lay out on a sheet and catch some rays. Please let me know the next time you plan on returning. Enjoy! Darren Sumner 212-642-2274

Would definitely recommend this hotel. We had the most basic room (I think), but the decor was lovely, with a large terrace that we would have made much more use of had it not been November! Very central, so we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go to,and we relly enjoyed walking around the stalls on Bryant Park immediately outside the hotel. Would have made use of the nice looking hotel bar, and the ice rink outside had I not been pregnant! Lots of lovely cafes very nearby for breakfast.
