Arrived Xmas eve after a long flight, the bookings they had got mixed up a little because we paid under my husbands name vs the booking name under mine however it did not prove a problem which was just luck not good management on their part. However the room was the biggest we had stayed in NYC and service was excellent. It was oppositie the pond were everyone was skating with Dean Martin playing it was fantastic and a highlight for us. We had Xmas lunch at Bryant Park Grill it was HUGE and just okay but very pleasant spot. would definitley recommend this hotel for location to time square, fifth ave, walking distance to central park, MOMA etc

What an oasis this hotel is; we loved it. Bryant Park across the street for calm in the city and then so close to Times Square and the rest for all sorts of action. We loved our room and staff were more than professional and extremely helpful too. Our only negative comment would be that we were disappointed we would have to pay for internet access. Otherwise, this was a wonderful experience.

My husband and I stayed in a Junior Suite for two nights last weekend to celebrate my birthday. Overall it was okay--no major problems during our stay but several annoyances afterwards that unfortunately marred my last impressions.

PLUSES:
- Location: Bryant Park was lovely and it was very walkable to the subway and everywhere else we wanted to go, yet the street it was on was relatively quiet and peaceful, without any of the noise you'd expect from being so close to Times Square.
- Free valet parking on weekends! Fantastic.
- Room size was excellent, with a king bed, two chaises, a coffee table, and a full dining table for four.
- Loved the strong water pressure in the shower.
- Chocolates and turn-down service, always appreciated.

MINUSES:
- We requested a copy of the Sunday Times to be delivered, but I guess our request was forgotten because we got the New York Post instead, just like everyone else.
- The TV reception was pretty poor. Not that we were in New York to watch TV but during the brief times when we were winding down from the day, it did seem rather amateurish to deal with poor picture quality and intermittent sound from one of the speakers.
- At check-in, the clerk asked if we had brought a laptop and wanted internet access. I said sure, so he wrote down an access code for us. Two days after getting home, I noticed a $20.63 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel and found out that it was for two days of internet access at $9.95/day. Rather misleading that he didn't mention the charge when giving us the access code, and the woman I spoke with on the phone didn't offer to reverse it either, even when I said that we were not informed of the charge beforehand. It wasn't until my husband called back did it get straightened out. So we did end up getting a refund but this was certainly a hassle that should have been avoided in the first place.
- And yet another billing hassle. We were charged $32 for an umbrella. It was raining on Sunday morning, so we borrowed an umbrella from the closet when we went out for coffee. We did not take it with us when we checked out later that day, yet our credit card was billed for it a few days later.

Note that none of these charges were on our account at the time we checked out--they only appeared on my credit card later. All told, 3 phone calls to get $50+ of additional charges reversed is a pain.

Thank you for your feedback! When you first sign on to the internet in the room, before you are actually charged, you are prompted to accept the charge. I was surprised to read that you were not aware of the internet charge, but I do apologize for that. I was happy to hear that you liked the hotel and room. I would really like the opportunity to speak with you further. The next time you visit NY, please call me, I will make sure you are well taken care of. Darren Sumner 212-642-2274

Spent 3 nights in April at The Bryant and would recommend this hotel 100% to anyone that wants a great central mid town location.

This is a very funky hotel, with it's decor throughout, trendy team that provide great service, high quality and modern rooms, and a great basement cocktail lounge.

The adjacent restaurant called Koi was also excellent.

I would definately return to this hotel.

Our stay at Bryant Park was great! Everyone was most accommodating! John checked us in and when our room was ready, he came to The Cellar to give us our keys. Our bag was brought to our room while we were enjoying our complimentary cocktails in the Cellar bar. Antonio, the bellman, was so helpful by always checking to see if we needed anything. Eric, the concierge, recommended a couple of restaurants, one for dinner and one for breakfast which we went to. We had asked for extra pillows and when we came back after enjoying our evening, they were already in the room They were both outstanding and just what we were looking for! On our second day, Chase stored our bags while we went to a show. He was super helpful by putting our bags in the car when we were ready to leave. Andreis got our car for us and was very watchful for us at the door. Our room was fanatastic with a room overlooking the park! Gorgeous view!

Sometimes, even a New Yorker feels a bit out-of-place in certain NYC hotels...they are just too cool. The Bryant Park could be that kind of place, but isn't.

From the moment we checked in, we were treated well by friendly, caring staff. Granted, we belong to TABLET hotels, and were upgraded to a jr suite (thanks once again for such a fab room), but that aside -- it was a great stay, even for one night. We've stayed in the smaller and larger rooms here, and both are pretty wonderful. Whatever direction your room faces, you still get lots of light since the windows are so large, and clean, modern furnishings that make your room feel bigger than it might otherwise.

If you like modern design, this is the place. We've fallen in love with the large rectangular bathroom sinks and wish we could take one or two home!

Our suite faced Bryant Park and was on the 19th floor -- room 1904. Fabulous spot to view the Park, with all of the flowering trees in bloom. It had a balcony with a little table and chairs, and simply wonderful bathroom with not one, but two huge windows, one facing East, and one North.

The bed was heavenly (unlike another reviewer said), and it was very hard to leave the following morning. And the little things were just right -- enough hangers in the closet, the bellhop asking if we needed ice for our mineral water, etc. The only quibble was that two lights were out which went unnoticed when the room was inspected before we checked in, but that is the only less-than-perfect aspect of our stay.

Yes, it is the fashionista hangout during Fashion Week, but it is also a wonderful, and very friendly place to stay even if you aren't a member of the media, or a fashion model.

As for the "bridge and tunnel" crowd at the bar, I can't speak to that as it was Easter evening, and the bar was closed.

If you want a great location to stay in New York - a block from Fifth Avenue (you can easily walk from Grand Central) and prefer clean design to frills, this is your place. Worth every penny.

What an amazing review! Thank you, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your honest feedback. The lawn is about to open in Bryant Park. It is hard to believe that we are a few blocks from Times Square and yet you can lay back on a sheet and catch some rays. Please let me know the next time you are in town, woud love to have you back.
