This place is a warren of rooms and walk up only. The carpet on the stairs is worn and even torn in one place. BUT....for $99/night(!) the rooms while tiny are clean, bright, fluffy down comforters, quiet. A bit short on storage, but adequate for a short stay. NEVER ran into anyone while using the shared bath, which was clean with plenty of hot water. 3rd night we moved to a triple to accomodate our son, was down from college to visit with us, and we had a private bathroom and an extra twin bed (for $125/night!).
The breakfast includes bagels, english muffins, coffee juice, fruit and hard boiled eggs. They let us store our leftovers from dinner in the fridge and we were welcome to help ourselves to juice and coffee whenever. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We are gay, but were completely comfortable with our fellow guests and our environment. Will stay here again for sure (11/2 short blocks to the subway)
