“Lovely Hotel Offering a Quaint Vibe in NYC”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013

Just visited this hotel for a couples trip to see a basketball game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This hotel is in a great location for travel to and from the Times Square/Penn Station area in addition to Brooklyn. Very close to subway transit which was great. Lovely interior that gave a quaint historic vibe. The rooms were huge and the bathroom was every woman's dream (spacious, clean and marble!). Would stay here again

We was allocated this hotel by our travel agent so was not our choice, but on arrival our first impression was off a lovely hotel in a great location. Unfortunately on booking in we was allocated the wrong kind of room for which we had requested with our travel agent, and the people behind the desk, especially the older guy (who was miserable and rude) where very unhelpful and only interested in charging us more money to move to the room we had requested.
The next day I went to use the public phones in the hotel lobby and they did not work, so I went to reception to report it, and again the old bloke was rude and unhelpful and said "the phones where nothing to do with them so was not there problem!!" though they where in there hotel lobby!!!? We assumed he had an attitude problem and just avoided making contact with him for the rest of our stay. The younger guy behind reception was a lot more approachable, and happily arrange for a taxi to take us to the port. The ladies that served breakfast and cleaned the rooms where lovely. I would happily stay here again if I definately knew the older guy had left!! not until. It was a shame he spoilt our stay, as this is a great little hotel in a lovely location with plenty of potential

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions from your recent stay with us. We greatly appreciate your feedback on the issues shared and would like to note that your travel agent does not have the privilege to sell our twin rooms with two separate beds since they are very limited in number. We did accommodate your request at check-in and the price difference for such an upgrade is always settled with us accordingly. We apologize for the inconvenience if any.

We have been working very hard to restore service to our public phone booth since Hurricane Sandy damaged the communication infrastructure in Downtown Manhattan. As well as you, we have been a bit frustrated with the slow progress on the side of Verizon in returning those services back to our guests. Our staff is always polite and professional and we regret that you felt mistreated in any way in that regard; we would try harder next time.

Once again thank you for choosing to stay with us; we know that you have many options for accommodations in New York City.

My wife and I extended a business trip and found our stay very pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being in the financial district with convenience to Brooklyn and away from the midtown hustle and bustle. We would defintely stay there again and found it to be a great value.

An excellently located hotel for lower Manhattan-away from the frenetic noise & bustle of mid town. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent room & a simple continental breakfast which helped set us up for a day's sight seeing enhanced our holiday. Would stay here again & would thoroughly recommend it.

Stayed here with a group of friends whilst travelling North America. We found ourselves without a room on a busy weekend in the summer and was left to check pretty much every hotel in New York.

Was greeted by friendly and efficient staff.

The rooms were large and spacious and seemed very clean.

The location was great, a short walk and you're back into bustling New York.

Apart from the fact we didn't want to spend so much for 2 nights, we had a pleasant stay.

New York is an expensive place. And having travelled most of the world I enjoy my comforts. But I don't want to pay through the nose for them. That's where the Wall Street Inn came in.
This was a treat for my wife who turned 40. Having had the worst ever experience in Iceland, I was hopeful that this would make up for it. It did. It looks immaculate. It looks historic. The lobby looks high end. But the prices are very reasonable. Very very good value. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have every had. Nothing was too much trouble. Now the one draw back.. it is not central in terms of Times Square. However, it is only a short subway journey away.
The breakfast may only be continental, but in fairness, if you are on a trip, you want to go out for breakfast. In my book, a hotel is all about comfort when you go to bed. And it is. Sorry to go on about the bed

My stay was for business purposes which worked well and my other half joined me. The rate was reasonable. However, the front desk staff was blunt and border line rude and not acceptable (with the exception of one front desk person who was a polite female). I would suggest a review of front desk staff and/or a retraining. This attitude is not the standard for NYC since I've done business there for many, many years.
I strongly agree on the hotel being in an excellent location. The restaurants and bars on Stone St were not a deterrent. The location actually provided a little life and additional convenient meeting places to meet for cocktails to dinner. However, if you are staying in the back of the hotel and you do have to turn in very early, you may want to ask for the front side of the hotel. Even with staying on the back side of the hotel, we had a great night sleep in a comfortable bed.
Continental breakfast, although small and quaint, was acceptable and staff was friendly. Cleaning staff was courteous and friendly as well (both departments could give a lesson to the front desk staff).
Interior was warm, old school elegant - overall feeling of charming, comfortable and being in a safe environment. Some fixtures and furnishings were in need of possible updating and repair, however again, it was not a deterrent. We would definitely stay in this hotel again and we would highly recommend this hotel depending on the services you would require.
