“Mid Summer's Dream”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

This is a true gem in the heart of FiDi, Very charming and very different from a chain. We had a room with a king bed with plenty of room to move around in. The bathroom was very well appointed and sizeable by Manhattan standards. The continental breakfast was standard but there were many restaurants in the area to accommodate larger appetites. We had a problem with the air conditioner and it was attended to immediately. Service was exceptional. We spent part of the weekend involved in a wedding and then after that our time downtown was spent at the 9/11 Memorial and South Street Seaport. All within walking distance.

Room Tip: We had a hotel in the back. It bordered on an alley with outdoor food and beverage service. We wer...

Not your typical large chain hotel. More like a cosy family run concern. Away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas such as Central Park and Time Square but close enough to reach them as and when needed. An easy walk to the Ferry Terminals for the likes of a ferry ride to Statton Island or to Statue of Liberty. A number of metro stations close by too. The 9/11 memorial is within easy walking distance as is my all time favourite shopping store Century 21 !! The hotel itself offers a continental breakfast and they have a complimentary tea and coffee station available 24/7. Complimentary WiFi is also included. Numerous restaurants are in close proximity to this hotel. We found the staff most helpful and will most certainly consider staying at this hotel the next time we are in the Big Apple.

Room Tip: Don't think it would matter where your room was.

This charming hotel differs from the large chain hotels in many ways. The decor is a renaissance style, rooms are fairly sized (for Manhattan almost large) and have a cute bathroom.

Our only issue with this really nice hotel was the front desk (as mentioned before in the reviews here). The front desk clerk who checked us in was extremely friendly and welcoming. The next day we had some questions though and there was a lady at the front desk who was acting rather rude.
From our experience you have a 50/50 chance of meeting a friendly front desk.

Housekeeping was extremely friendly and our room as well as the hotel was really clean.

The hotel is located in the Financial District and very close to all major subway lines. The Financial District offers quiet nights, yet little dinner options after 9pm. Continental breakfast was/is included in the room price. You get a choice of bread (including european style pastry), cereal, coffee and some fruit. Overall a good start.

We would have given 5 points if we had had a friendly front desk service at all times. As our overall experience was good though we would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Corner Room

This is a beautiful hotel in a very nice area! Very well maintained, clean, charming, lovely. Rooms are comfortable and so are beds and pillows. Great restaurant choices in the street right behind the hotel, and many more walking distance. Subway stations also close to the hotel. Excellent choice if you prefer to stay in Lower Manhattan.

Exceeded all expectations!!!
Quaint and comfy with very helpful staff. Absolute perfect location for walking to WTC Memorial and Museum and Statue of Liberty. Subway station to uptown very close. Stone Alley behind hotel has many pub choices open even on weekends for lunch or dinner. The included breakfast (almost unheard of in NYC )was yummy and saved lots of time----making the room rate unbeatable! Luggage storage very useful on both check in and check out day.Used their van transportation for the 5 of us with luggage---very reasonable.
Safe quiet home away from home after the hustle and bustle of midtown.

This is a super little hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff, well-sized (for the location) neat and tidy rooms and a location that's so close to Wall Street you can walk it in under a minute.

There's a lovely cobbled street behind the hotel with pubs, cafe's and eateries too.

What a great hotel. Staying away from the craziness that is midtown, this was our first visit here and won't be the last. Great sized room for a major city, excellent services and perfect location for lower manhatten attractions, restaurants, bars and subway links to the rest of manhatten. My family are going to stay here in the coming months because of our experience here. Thanks for a wonderful visit!
