“I love the housekeeping staff, they really took care of me!”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I just want to say that although this place filled up fast and was quite busy during our stay, we had such exceptional housekeeping staff. I had lost my diamond and 24k gold nose ring which was a family heirloom. I left a message in the room for the housekeeping staff to look for it along with a description of it, in addition to letting the hotel lobby folks know. I left my number and prayed that they would find it and be honest about it. THEY WERE! A wonderful woman, the cleaning lady for the 15th floor, named Evelia, located my nose ring and called me and was even willing to send it out in the mail to return it to me. Thank You so much Evalia, God Bless you! Additionally, I commend Maria Suarez, who manages the housekeeping staff! What an excellent job, of keeping these women honest and full of integrity. Needless to say Maria was able to overnight me my jewelry back the very next day. I received the package today in a cute little blue box with a bow, and was thrilled to bits to have that piece of jewelry back on my person. Thank you so much to Maria, Evalia and the Hyatt Place, for hiring such quality employees. You guys a great and I will definitely come back.

The staff and Concierge were wonderful and friendly. Very helpful to have the flexibility in check in time. Storing our luggage so we could go to the 911 Memorial was wonderful as well. The breakfast Buffet was fabulous and a real help!

I cannot find anything to complain about regarding this hotel. Clean, new, modern, good location, decent price, free internet, free business center, free breakfast, good customer service. You should definitely give it a try.

We have spent 4 nights in this hotel with the whole family and found it very good. Having stayed in 21st floor in the room facing Empire State Building we had beautiful view during the nights (well, if you ignore not so nice NYC rooftops).

Some tips:
1) staying on the high floor gives you nice views, but fetching an elevator in the morning can take you 5-10 minutes - sometimes it is easier to take the stairs.
2) there is a parking garage available at the same street some 200ft from the hotel - hotel itself does not offer parking, so drop off your luggage and park your car there.
3) breakfast room can get pretty crowded, so be there early. Getting there too late might result you want get everything...

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors might give you nicer view, but can take 5-10 minutes to fetch the elevato...

Very friendly staff. Clean, simple and modern. We where provides a handicap accessible room. I suppose it's a bigger room and that was a plus but the shower was in a weird position. The whole bathroom filled with water. However it's was a great all around experience. The breakfast is included in the rate and it's not the boring continental type of breakfast. They serve scrambled eggs or egg sandwiches, pancakes or french toast, fruits, assortment of breads an cereals, oatmeal and juices. They also have a pretty good coffee and tea. Breakfast gets crowded 1 hr before ending. Free wifi is offered and it has very good and strong signal.

I consider the location of the hotel perfect. It's near shops at 34 St and of a subway station at 35 St. It's much less crowded than Times Square but very safe. Preferred it to shopping in Times Square. Only
about two blocks from the Amtrak Penn Station.

Hotel was oer $700 for a standard room. Small, noisy and not very comfortable. I had noisiy neighbors and to top it off, there was no hot water in the morning to take a shower. TO compensate Hyatt offered me bonus points in my account, but no discount at all. Very disappointed and I will not stay at the hotel again.

This was definitely one of the best hotels regarding service; location and comfort we stayed in in a long time. The hotel is very convenient to Times Square; and all the shopping areas and subways one could need. Enough cannot be said about the staff (thanks Thomas; Raul; Luis; Tammy). The staff customer service and genuine caring for their guests could go up against any 5-star property, and would win. This Hyatt Place was far superior than some full-service hotels we've visited (including Hyatt). The room was spacious; super comfortable beds; and the elevators were fast - longest wait was about four minutes. Well-appointed room with a full-size sofa (and we had a wonderful view of the Empire State Building - thanks again Thomas/Luis). The hotel is kept very clean by a caring staff. This is a real gem located in the heart of Manhattan. The breakfast area was well appointed as well. The hotel is fantastic and the service outstanding. Will certainly return and highly recommend. You simply cannot go wrong with this fantastic property. There are also numerous great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor with an Empire State Building view if possible.
