Intimate gallery with precious Klimts. Viennese restaurant serving delicious cuisine - schnitzel, goulash, strudel with cream all highly recommended.

“A precious little museum”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 via mobile

This is a very nice museum focusing on European art. The collection is small but extremely intense. Don't miss this museum. Close to Guggenheim, definetely worth visiting at least an hour.

“Interesting Exhibits”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This small gallery that focuses on Austrian and German art fills a niche in the NY art scene. Klimt admirers will love the 2nd floor room with 4/5 Klimt paintings. The exhibits are also often not found else where like the current one on Nazi v. Degenerate art.
The cafe, featuring Austrian food, is not to be missed.

“Beautiful paintings in a splendid mansion”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

This museum exhibits beautiful paintings from the beginning of the 19th century by viennese or german painters. There was a very interesting exhibition on the degenerate artists or so called by the nazis before world war II. There are also great furnitures and pieces of art deco silverware that you can even buy in the shop if you are with enough money. Try the Sabarski coffeeshop. It is worthwile.

“Absolutely Fabulous!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Small well done boutique museum with the original Gustav Klimt's
Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, which in person is absolutely
gorgeous, no print does it justice.

Their current collection is called Degenerate, about modern painting in Germany and criticized by Hilter, however the collections change.

Beautiful clocks from Vienna, and small silver ware items are just wonderful.

Should not be missed if you have an hour or two.

Audio guide is free.
