“Stylish, Comfortable and Convenient”

I always assume when I book a hotel on a non-refundable website like Jetsetter that we'll get a bad room and service to match -- you know what you're paying for with those sites. Imagine my pleasant surprise when the front desk staff easily and happily accommodated my request for an early check-in, and then sent us to a perfectly lovely and spacious room with tons of light, a great sitting area and a super-comfortable bed! My husband and I found the attention to detail throughout the hotel and in the rooms to be exceptional, and the service (particularly from the bellmen) to be efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. We want to book another trip to NYC just to stay there!

Room Tip: Courtyard-facing rooms are perfectly quiet.

The reason of my complaint started with the size of the room which was much smaller as in the description.
The worst experience was the front desk manager Kelly who was rude, not competent and extremely unfriendly. She was just confusing and telling much higher prices from an upgrade as the day before the other from manager. She treated us as secondary guests because we booked vie jetsetter and not via the hotel. The hotel made the contract with jetsetter, which should NOT AFFECT THE GUESTS.
Secondly, we could not understand, that in a 5 star how it is possible that 3 different persons behind the front desk offers us 3 different upgrade rates for the next room category. It is not professional at all. After all of this, Kelly did not understand our problem that our first room was very small and that we cannot understand why we have got 3 different rates from 3 front desk managers for the same room category, so she dealt this situation unprofessional and rude! Then she contacted several times Christian by the reservation and she communicated to hem that we were yelling to her. After long and exhausting discussions and phone calls she offered us the cheaper upgrade rate what we did not accepted after all that and she also apologized for her misunderstanding and behaviour but it was too late after all the unpleasant experience... The hotel and the location is very nice, but they should look at whom do they hire. Unfortunately, there was no respond to my complaint from the hotel manager neither…

This is a great hotel for a getaway. We got a terrific rate on jetsetter and felt very lucky to stay there for such a value! The design is really beautiful in the rooms and the place has a very Parisian boho chic feel. Incredibly friendly staff from the front desk, the restaurant host, the bar staff and the front door. The hotel also holds tables at the highly sought-after restaurant (also called nomad and the chic library bar for guests of the hotel. This is practically a miracle in this day and age when hotels often subjugate guests to the back of the line if they have trendy spaces or restaurants. The location is incredibly central and very walkable. Fast free wifi too. We would stay there again in a second.

the rooms are small but very functional and very 'FUNKY'. the service is good and if you need to be in that part of Manhattan it is a great location. only draw back was could not get into bar for a drink before leaving the hotel for dinner-seems to be a very hot spot with no preference given to hotel guests

I was so happy when I stepped foot into our room. Where to start? The bed…the roll top bath…the shower. Everything about it was simply superb and designed with such elegance and taste. The hotel is on the corner of a subway station making it really easy to get around the city. It's also within walking distance to some great shopping locations and tourist attractions. We didn't eat at the hotel during our stay as we had too many other places that we wanted to try but the Elephant Bar area was stunning (for a non-alcoholic beverage, the one with orange blossom water and cream was divine!) Staff were discrete but helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend The Nomad to anyone going to NYC.

I first found this hotel by going to the restaurant. (Absolutely amazing). For any traveler, the hotel exceeds in all measurable hotel standards: exceptional service, extremely comfortable bed, and remarkably quiet (hard to find).

Here's where it gets even better, the hotel rooms have hardwood floors (great for allergy sufferers), huge closets, claw foot bath tubs (not in all rooms), a walk-in shower, and separate room for the toilet.

One of the key aspects is that the hotel kitchen has a superior understanding of food allergies. I have a very bad gluten allergy with serious cross contamination issues. Just two months ago, I got sick from room service at another hotel, Muse Kimpton.

Nomad understands customer service and have an extensive knowledge of food allergies. The difference? I had to leave early because I got so sick from Kimpton's Muse restaurant. When I got home, the restaurant manager called me up and yelled at me. (The hotel manager was extremely apologetic and nearly made up for it, except no traveler should be made sick and then yelled at.)

In contrast, when I had a question about the gluten-free bread at The Nomad, they rushed up to verify that what I had was GF bread. (It was, and man--- was it outstanding).

And the bread was just the beginning, all of the food at The Nomad is absolutely exceptional and definitely an adventurous treat.

If there were a way to signify it as 10 stars, I easily would. Hope to be back here and only here for future NY visits.

Room Tip: Some rooms have an option for a claw foot tub. If this is something you'd like to have, make su...

Great, classy & highly recommendable Hotel for grown-ups if you are looking for something stylish but can do without the loud parties and hipsters you'll find at places like The Standard and ACE. Might seem to be a bit pricey but compared to other offers well worth it. Very good room size (compared to other hotels in New York), extremely friendly and helpful staff, free bicycles (first come first served basis). One of the best Hotels we ever stayed in New York.
