“A Small Treasure in the City Center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

This small zoo has two parts, the main zoo surounding the seal pool, and the Children`s zoo a tiny bit further north outside of the main zoo. Much in both places is perfect for children of all ages....the
exhibtis of birds, bats, penguins, red pandas, and even ants !There is a cafeteria with food kids will like, and indoor and outdoor places to eat. The planting and covered walkways are beautiful. It does get crowded on the weekends. In the children`s zoo the kids are able to feed some of the (very fat) animals.

“Good to visit while in Central Park”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2012

I will first add that I love Zoos! Zoos of all types attract me. The Central Park Zoo is very small but for the price of admission a great experience. I has a nice variety and contains very informative educational panels. Being on a hill there was more than enough stopping point to make this enjoyable for people of most fitness levels. The penguin habitat is also great refreshment on a hot NYC summer day.

“Wildlife in midtown...............”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2012

It's a small zoo, and can get quite crowded at times. Sea lions, polar bears, snow leopards, and a rainforest habitat are the main attractions. You have to climb a somewhat steep path or stairs to get to the snow leopard exhibit. It's tiny, but worthwhile if you'd like to see the animals without leaving midtown. It's adequate for an hour or so visit. if you want to really spend the day at the zoo, head out to the Bronx Zoo.

“Just right!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2012

We visited this lovely setting a couple of days ago with our own family & sister-in-law, her husband & their young daughter. A little anxious about queues, but once we got past that, this was really a great venue! It wasn't too crowded. There aren't so many animals, but that's ok. Allows you to enjoy those there. highlights were probably a) The snow leopard (right up against the glass!) & b) the polar bear. One got the chance to get up close to it & see it swim underwater. Very interesting. The buildings are very nice. My kids recognised landmarks from the movie 'Madagascar'!
