“A readers homage to writers”

Dream of time travel as you step back into this historic landmark that has enough updates to be pleasant but respectful. If you love to read this is a place to imagine the spirits of the past hanging out and offering a thank you for their great literary works.

“Charming and Elegant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

This hotel underwent a multi million dollar renovation and the room decor is modern and classy. Rooms are small (but expect this for many NYC hotels). The bedroom and bathroom furnishing are elegant and reflect the style of the hotel. Close to Times Square. This is a great place to stay in the heart of downtown NYC. Within walking distance to many attractions, theater and restaurants.

“Good almost great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

We were there celebrating our anniversary because it was the first ny hotel we stayed back in 1994. The main difference is that is not as exclusive as it used to be. it became a chain hotel and ended up losing some of the charm. I would stay again for broadway and shopping.

Convenient location, nicely remodeled, great bar. Cross the street for bagels and coffee. Feel secure. Loved it!

Great but short 1st time visit. Older hotel but comfortable bed. Clean and only complaint. Not enough towels.
