“Good food, good atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

I made a last-minute reservation here for ten people for dinner - they wined and dined us like we were family. The food was delicious - together we must have tried one of each dish - and we were all delighted.

“a little disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

We went to Ca Va because it was the only place I could get a reservation pre-theatre on a Friday evening. It was okay, but not what I had anticipated. It's in the Intercontinental Hotel, and I guess I expected something a little more swank. I had ricotta gnocchi, which was tasty, but which needed some different textures or crunch or something. The service was okay, but nothing special. It just seemed kind of overpriced.

“Good but too salty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

Even though we told our waiter that we had a show to catch, the food took a half hour to arrive. The food was tasty and well prepared, but my salad was way, way too salty (and I like salt). It was a pleasant lunch and my friends like their food a lot. One had the opened faced burger with avocado, bacon and an egg on top and loved it. Another had onion soup with mussels and really liked it.

“Not worth the trip”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

We went to Ca Va after the theater last night in part because the kitchen is supposed to be open late. We arrived at 10:45 PM after walking 4 blocks in a downpour. . Although the restaurant was not crowded, we eventually (after 15 minutes) were able to flag down a busboy who took our order. We only ordered two glasses of wine and two mains. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our food, although the wine was brought out very quickly. The food was quite ordinary; nothing special. After we finished and were getting ready to leave, we learned that there was a lounge menu that no one offered us, even though other restaurant patrons were given that menu. The restaurant is the hotel restaurant for the Intercontinental. We did not appreciate that the staff was turning over the tables for breakfast while we were having dinner.

“Expected better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Ad the reviews and was hoping for a better experience. The atmosphere is nice, but th food was average at best. Our friends salmon was overcooked and my pork dish was too salty.
