“not too bad”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

The hotel is one of the few in this area where I wanted to stay. It looks like an old place that was updated. The entrance btw is hard to find- not well signed.

The room is small with two single beds- when did you last see THAT? The room was frigid and you cannot control the temperature which is controlled from downstairs by the desk for the entire floor. The room smelled a bit of either cheap perfume or some kind of persistent airfreshener- it wore off presently.
Wall paper was stained.

Other than this it was ok- sleeping was fine.

I don't think I would stay there again but it is close to a vibrant SOHO shopping and looking area so if the above isn't too bad then go for it.

The location of this hotel is excellent; particularly if you are comfortable with using the subway to get around. The rooms were "ok" in terms of cleanliness. We had an issue with the bedding; which was addressed quickly and to our satisfaction by the person at the front desk. The windows are large and give the room an airy feel; however, this was at the cost of increased noise (as glass isn't very effective at insulating sound). If you are a very light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs. The price was great for what we got. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Booked Deluxe Queen Suite through TriBlu web site Month before travel. Told not available at Check in. Was given discounted full size room. Room #904 A/C did not work my 2 nights there. Told repairman on way. Never happened. I should have gone elsewhere. I wanted to like this place, but overall was mistreated.

This hotel, from start to finish, was absolutely fabulous! After finding and booking this hotel online my boyfriend went into planning mode to have some special arrangements made for our arrival. In coordination with Lamar, Head of Housekeeping, my boyfriend told Lamar that he was planning on proposing to me and wanted to prepare some amazing surprises. When we got to our suite there were flowers everywhere, candles lit and a bottle of Veuve waiting for us. It was the perfect scene and best way to start our weekend.

Our room was on the top floor and a corner suite. The room was spacious, modern and very well decorated - and the view was beyond amazing! Looking out onto Broadway and Canal you can see the hustle and bustle that is NYC's signature.

My boyfriend (or now fiance!) don't typically stay in hotels when we visit New York, but I'm super happy we chose this one for our trip. It exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again!

Big thank yous to Lamar and his staff and the entire TriBeCa Blu team!

Sincerely,
Mr. and Mrs. (future) Kang

Everything was just Perfect. The hotel has refurbished facilities, It is very clean and organized. The bed is so comfortable and the wifi connection works all the time. The only drawback is that the hotel has central air conditioner and you can´t select desired temperature.

The hotel website states: "The first thing you'll notice when you step into the Tribeca Blu Hotel is the sophistication and style. Step away from the bustling New York streets into your own private calm of luxury and indulgence. " When I got to the hotel, I thought the driver had brought me to a wrong place, there is absolutely nothing sophisticated or luxury about this hotel, from the lobby to the room.
Room was super small, think European small, there was no closet (this was a first in all my hotel stays), and had a strange smell, and there were stains on the carpet and the wall. There was sad looking iron and iron board on the corner of room (since there was no closet) The bed and bathroom were clean.
The street noise is crazy crazy crazy. Don't think about getting any sleep here. And it is in a very bad neighborhood.
This was my 6th stay in NY and by far the worse hotel experience. I really kicked myself for picking this hotel. I had originally made reservations elsewhere but after reading all the great reviews, I changed since this hotel was the closest place to where I needed to be without having to pay $500 a night. At this price range (about $200/night), there are far better options in NY.

Room Tip: Just stay elsewhere, you need a good night sleep so that you could walk the beautiful NY the next da...

We had a great stay at TriBeCa Blu hotel. Thank you Tamel and Jose for the handy tips and being so friendly and helpful.

The location of the hotel is great and the subway is right outside the door. Very affordable for NYC.

Though the room is small the staff and the service more than makes up for it.

Will definitely stay there again.

Warm regards
Marsha and Ken
