Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Great stay!!! Rooms are tight and cozy but just steps from Little Italy, Chinatown and SoHo. Close to International Culinary Institute (formerly French Culinary Institute). Great metro spot to catch the metro to Times Squares too. Stayed the first time due to location for culinary classes, but have come back 3 more times just because of location!!! Request accessible room to get a little more space if you are staying more than a couple of nights.

The TriBeCa Blu is a difficult place to review and rate. The positives: it is inexpensive, attentive front desk staff, clean rooms are decent size, good size bathroom and good location for Little Italy, Chinatown and subways. The negatives: it is a low budget hotel, it looks and feels it. The noise on Canal Street is LOUD. Light sleepers should not stay here. You will not be able to fall asleep. There are no real services at this hotel. So there you have it. You can decide for yourself if the positives outweigh the negatives for you!

As a newcomer to NYC, TriBeCa Blu couldn't have been more ideal. The rooms had a modern feel, with good space for a hotel in NYC and beds that could have been ordered from heaven. The staff is really the standout of the hotel's appeal; the concierge is easy-going and have answers for every question you may have about the city---and if they don't, they are just as quick to get you an answer by computer, call, or map. The maid service is also impeccable. Not to mention, the location is great. Just a couple of blocks over is Chinatown, and a few blocks after that, Little Italy. Walking out of the hotel is a subway entrance, and around the corner is another one. Also, a block over is a bank. TriBeCa Blu truly is the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. If I have the opportunity to come back, I wouldn't think twice about where to book a room!

Room Tip: The rooms higher up have an amazing view. Also, try to get a room away from the doors that exit to t...

Tribeca blu was a nice hotel, we only stayed one night but the staff were very friendly and the hotel is very clean and well presented. The room was an odd shape but decent space for nyc and comfortable - the bed was quite small however on the deluxe room.

The location is very good for lower manhattan and its right off canal st metro station which makes it easy to find.

First and foremost, the hotel was quite clean, and the staff was courteous, so I am pleased about that. The hotel is near the subway stations, so it was convenient in that respect, but the neighborhood was certainly not what I would consider a "nice" area of New York. There are small improvements that the hotel could make such as: put hooks in the room - there was no closet in our room, nor any kind of dresser/drawers, so our clothes had to remain in our bags. Also, while the bathroom was quite spacious, there was only a tiny shelf next to the sink, so any toiletries that didn't fit had to be crammed onto the small windowsill, or on top of the toilet. Also, Canal Street is so noisy, day and night. We had a terrible first night's sleep the first night, so bring ear plugs or sleeping pills!! All in all, we will stay elsewhere on our next visit to NYC.

I stayed at this hotel in early June 2014. I had a full room, which came with one double bed. It was very small, but I was travelling alone so this size was fine. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There's an iron and small ironing board in a small closet, along with a safe. The walls were very thin - there was someone with a cold in the room next to me who I heard cough loudly all night long. I suggest bringing earplugs for the thin walls and the traffic noise (it's a budget-friendly hotel in NYC, you should expect traffic noise). The hotel is in a great location. I walked to a number a great restaurants and bars in the Tribeca area in about 10 minutes. It's also located next to great shopping on Broadway. The entrance to the Canal Street station is literally steps from the front door of the hotel, which was extremely helpful the day that I stepped out of the subway to discover it had started to rain on my way back to the hotel from Central Park. The front desk staff was courteous and gave me a map of the city and helped me with directions. If you're looking for a budget friendly place to stay in NYC in the Tribeca area, I'd definitely recommend this place.

At least once a year we visit NYC. Always stay in Chinatown. The Bleu is at the top of the middle hotels in price. On balance a good value.

Our upper floors were quiet. Completely redone 18 months ago. The room designs and workmanship are outstanding. Some rooms are smallish but the larger rooms are excellent.

We'll be back.

Easy access for cabs and the Subway. A short walk to Little Italy.
