Middle east style restaurant in a good location. Food is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Service is fine too. Recommended if you like/are looking for food from the Arab world.

We were in NY for business and were fortunate enough to stumble upon Arabesque! From the moment we walked in and were seated, we felt as if we had discovered a little gem of a place. The atmosphere, cuisine and service were memorable!

The service was attentive and friendly but not in any way obtrusive. We were asked several times by several individuals if we were pleased, to which we answered in the affirmative. Courses were timed perfectly and we had ample opportunity for conversation in a leisurely and relaxed fashion. However, these details are just for the purpose of setting the stage for the delectable cuisine.

We started with pita, spicy hummus, quinoa tabouli, apricot cigars, a kefta brochette and Moroccan mint tea, all delicious. We shared an outstanding entree, a lamb dish with potatoes and vegetables, exotically seasoned and artfully presented.

We finished up with 2 desserts, both of which we will be thinking about when we are engaged once again in the inevitable diet! Pastilla au Lait and Choco Mousse. The Pastilla consisted of a flavorful orange and rose water infused pudding between delicate layers of flaky pastry. The mousse was strictly for those (like myself) who crave a fudge- like consistency coupled with sliced strawberries. Both rather amazing!

In a word, Arabesque is highly recommended!! In a city where there is no shortage of outstanding restaurants, this cozy and welcoming restaurant is unique and stands out for us, and we will certainly look forward to our next visit.

The restaurant is a cosy, well decorated in pure middle eastern style place.
The staff is very helpful, always ready and very professional.
The food is good, no questions, a bit strange that the lamb came out from the kitchen after only 5 minutes from my order, it was obviously pre-cooked and to be honest it tasted so, specially the sides.
Overall a good, mid priced restaurant in Manhattan, the atmosphere makes Arabesque special.

Very nice for the price with a great variety of Middle Eastern fare. Comfortable room, not too loud. Had a definite Middle Eastern feel.

They definitely focus on the small plates, which is one of our favorite formats, as you can sample lots of different things.

Don't miss the desserts and coffee.

We wanted to try something different while in New York City, rather than the standard deli, pizza, Italian, etc. Arabesque was a pleasant surprise located near our hotel in midtown. The atmosphere was great as was the food. I had the lamb entree and chicken "cigars" apricot sauce for an appetizer. The hummus was also very good. Our friends had the short ribs and the kefta special, both of which they really enjoyed. We were even treated to a belly dancer who moved through the restaurant balancing a platter of burning candles! Would go back.
