“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2013

The Refinery is a truly wonderful hotel- all that you can ask for in a place to stay in NYC. Great midtown location, best of quality in linens and design, cleanliness, interesting and substantial furniture, a sense of history combined with sparkling newness. I love the connection to the garment district, with the rug designs and millinery tools display in the lobby and the sewing machine type tables in the rooms. I love the focus on natural- the bed linen was great quality white cotton with wheat-colored raw linen; polished wood floors instead of commercial carpet. I even love their pens- wood!!! The staff is helpful and friendly too. I stayed during the soft opening, before the bar and tea room were opened and it was great then. I have booked another stay in August and hope to stay there for every trip to NYC!

Brand new.. very spacious.. even though we picked the smallest room type on offer and only because we were a very late notice guest.

The hotel crew are exceptionally friendly and professional. The room we stayed in, was designed beautifully (awards to the designer of this place !).

We had breakfast at Parker and Quinn every morning of our stay and I feel as though we have made brand new friends there.. and this will no doubt heavily influence a return stay in New York.... which won't be too far away.

This is a really fabulously located new hotel .. just seconds from Times Square, Bryant Park (wonderful !) and Grand Central Station and everything else.

If you need to be in Mid-town - this is the place....

(Only - one very minor and nit-picking 'down' note - the music in the lobby could be turned down a notch or two - while I love the tunes.. it probably was a bit too loud).

Cheers and enjoy !

Room Tip: Away from road if possible, probably ... plus be careful with the bottled water in the room. It is...

Stayed with my wife and a daughter three nights at the Refinery Hotel. Would recommend this property to anyone traveling to New York City. From the moment you enter the lobby, friendliness and a welcoming attitude greets you - excellent stay. Perfect location, just walking distances from many attractions (ex. Time Square). Rooms were spotless. Loved the rooftop (although not recommended for kids). Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Renita and all staff.

My first time in NYC turned out to be an outstanding experience due to the our stay at the Refinery Hotel and their staff. We were booked at chain hotel, but moved reservations as soon as we walked into their lobby. We were treated like family, and left after three nights feeling like we left a family member in NYC. I truly mean this. We spent time in the Parker & Quinn Restaurant and Refinery Rooftop, and always felt like we were priority. It was topped off on Sunday when my son was drafted by his hometown team Chicago Blackhawks. The staff at The Refinery were aware of the news before we walked into the lobby, and it felt like they had a son in the draft. NYC is lucky to have The Refinery Hotel & staff representing their city.

My son was taking me to NYC for my 50th birthday and surprised me with this new hotel. I was a little apprehensive about what the hotel he rented would be like because he is 23yrs. old and well, you know! I was so impressed! We were greeted at the door and went to check in. Ashley was very tentative while the manager immediately asked us if we needed a water. Even though we arrived early they worked on getting us a room asap. Because they knew it was my Birthday, when we came to our room they had a nice card and a bottle of wine waiting. The room was very clean and fresh. I was so impressed with the high ceilings, bathroom, and the crisp sheets on a very comfortable bed. Everytime we came back to the hotel they greeted us with smiles and said hello. We watched the fireworks from the rooftop bar and enjoyed a lite menu while looking out at the Empire State building. It was a memory I will treasure forever.

Room Tip: They do have a few rooms that have a view of the Empire State building.

We spent one night at the new Refinery Hotel in NYC. We enjoyed the intimate and chic vibe of the hotel, but were particularly wowed by the warm welcome we received upon arrival. As soon as we walked through the door on a very hot and humid July 4th, we were offered a very cold and refreshing bottle of water and given a mini history lesson about the one time hat factory. I wish I could remember the name of the wonderful gentleman that was working the front door upon our arrival because he went out of his way to chat with us and make sure that we were taken care of upon check-in. The new rooftop bar was a great place to relax on a hot summer night, with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building (lit up in red, white, & blue of course!). Thank you to the very friendly and caring management staff who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed a fun evening viewing the fireworks. It was a perfect stay. We will be back.

I recently stayed at this hotel with two of my three kids, and my mother and had a fabulous time. The room was extremely spacious in comparison to other boutique hotel rooms and very clean. From Aziz, who welcomed us with his smile at the front door to Tariq, who helped us with every request at the front desk, this hotel was superb! In addition to the professional staff, we loved being within walking distance from many tourist attractions. A fantastic hotel!

Room Tip: All the rooms are equally spacious and lovely
