My husband and I just returned from New York on Sunday after spending Christmas at this remarkable hotel. When we arrived to check-in (at 7:30 in the morning) we expected we would have to wait until mid afternoon to get a room. Not so.....we were given a room within 15 minutes. Our room was quiet, extremely clean and very comfortable. Every staff member at The Refinery Hotel treated us with total respect, friendliness, warmth, and sincere interest. The location of the Hotel is spot on!!! So close to everything.....from Macy's to Times Square, Bryant Park (an absolute must to see), Grand Central Terminal and north to Central Park and west to the Hudson River to take a river cruise, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We have travelled extensively and can honestly say that The Refinery Hotel is at the top of our list for return visits. To be around employees who truly take pride in their job is heart warming. They really do care about you and your stay with them.

We took our family into NYC this weekend and stayed in the Refinery. From the very beginning, our experience was outstanding - from the warm and personal greeting from the bell staff to the front desk to the bar in the evening. The rooms are spacious by NYC standards, clean and modern. The location is convenient - just steps away from Bryant Park and Times Square. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for our wedding night and were completely swept of our feet when we arrived.
We were upgraded, finding our room covered in rose petals and a big rose petal heart on the bed. Champagne in a ice bucket and strawberrys in chocolate as complementy.
What else could one ask for?
The hotel is modern, with urban and modern art decor. the rooms are big with all requierements covered: Wifi, TV, room service, and minibar, bathroom ropes, hair dryer etc.
Only inconviniente is that there is no coffee or tea facilities in the room, but do have this (free) on the lobby floor.
Restaurant service is great and good value for money, breakfast and evening meals were very well presented, served and quality is superb.
The rooftop bar was our meeting point for all our family and friends and is good value.
Would certainly come back here.

The service at this hotel is second to none; the employees go out if their way to make guests feel welcome. Everyone from the doormen to the Rooftop Bar was accommodating and helpful. I'll definitely be returning during my next stay in New York.

I highly recommend staying at The Refinery Hotel.I arrived close to midnight exhausted from the long haul flight from Australia.I was greeted by a friendly staff member Raymond who helped me with all my luggage and checking in.On check in I was upgraded to a King room as I was travelling Solo for business,I was very thankful. The room was spacious and so very comfortable for my short 4 night stay in NYC.The rooftop bar boasts views of the empire state building, and they mix a pretty good cocktail as well.I didn't feel uncomfortable at all having a bite to eat and a couple of cocktails alone in the rooftop bar.Make sure you go and have a look if you are staying as it's worth it! I also needed help with directions and the staff were ever so helpful.I hope to return to NYC in early 2014 and here is where I will be staying.I love the whole lay out of the hotel it has an industrial edge to it but is indeed 5 star.I have travelled to NYC twice before and the accommodation was not as comfortable as The Refinery. The adjoining restaurant bar was also a comfortable place to sit and enjoy breakfast or a quick meal in the evenings, the in room service was excellent as well.I love all the additional touches of the millinery tools, sewing tables and garment district history it adds warmth to the hotel.

Room tip: I was lucky enough to be on the ninth floor.I do recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. It is NYC remember.
