“Delicious brunch”

Delicious food. Enjoyed the atmosphere also. I went twice in a row. Probably not the best place for gluten intolerants. Great croissants.

“Mediocre food but great pastries and bread!”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

The Maison Kayser in Flatiron is a great cafe for casual dinners/meetings (free wifi!). Service is pretty good and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I've had different tartines and soups and unfortunately the food is bland and uneventful but the pastries are great (hence the average rating that considers both)! My favorites are the pistachio and chocolate financiers and the apricot/pistachio tart. There is also a little pistachio glazed mini pastry loaf that I don't remember the exact name of but is incredibly addicting.

“almost like Paris”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

I was in two Eric Kaysers in Paris a few weeks ago - Rue Monge and St. Sulpice. The bread here in NYC is just as good. Speaking with one of the French managers (from one of the Paris stores), they actually are getting the flour from France. Maybe that's why the breads are superior. I also thought the pastries were excellent but different, not as many fancy pastries but maybe that was because I was later in the evening. Bright staff, helpful, made good suggestions and comments.
Kayser was the first baker to add pastries, quite revolutionary in Paris just about 10 years ago from what local Parisian friends tell me.

“Great french food- fast”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

What a great find on a cold February afternoon! Left the Met in search of lunch and just stumbled across this place on our walk. I would walk through a snowstorm to go back. Amazing french onion soup, and a smoked salmon club sandwich that I'm going to try and recreate at home- and very likely fail at. Service was quick and very friendly and the prices were decent. Wish there was a Masion Kayser close to where we live in the mid-Atlantic.

“A touch of old world savoir-faire”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

Dropped by this place twice on a recent weekend visit. Great coffee and pastries in this efficiently run café. Very well situated near Central Park and for a change of pace, we really enjoyed the French atmosphere helped along by the presence of actual French staff.
