I was hungry since yesterday, when I arrived here in NY because I was staying in a hotel close to JFK and there are not too many Halal dining places near that place. When I checked in my hotel Skyline on 10th Street, I wasn't expecting hotel like Punjabi tadka too near to this place.

It is almost 3 minutes walk from Skyline Hotel across the road. I just came back from eating Daal Tadka there, which was superb, it tasted like home-made Daal. Staff is friendly. There are lunch and dinner buffet deals available and they do free delivery to Manhattan. We sure will order more from there during our stay here.

This place was just at a stone throw's distance away from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on 48th Street and 10th Avenue. I walked in around 11 am and was already hungry with the familiar aromas.
They have quite an exhaustive menu, which I shall be trying out..(now that I know!!). I decided to do the starters and the parathas as it was around 11 am and I was kind of feeling brunchy. Ordered samosas, pakoras and Gobi Paratha and Aloo parathas. Amazing is the word I have to say! The samosas reminded me of my days in Delhi's Bhikaji Cama Place...crisp, hot and just the right samosas! The parathas were a delight and after missing them for almost 6 months my job knew no bounds when they came piping hot with melted butter on top! They serve imli chutney, green chutney, raita and achaar and it was just the right start to a sunday! The Mango lassi is to die for and I was informed that they make the curd in the Restaurant itself. No wonder it was thick, yummy and delicious!
With service being so homely, Sona the guy in the counter goes the extra mile and keeps checking for satidfaction and needs all the time. With Rab Ne baba di Jodi and Rockstar Music playing in the background I actually did not want to leave!!

Definitely worth every bit of the money which I spent....around $17 only.
